I need to open at least one can per day but found it sometimes difficult with the cans of American Special Diet Dog Food which the vets have prescribed for my diabetic dog. This opener was first recommended to me by a friend. Provided you do not have any difficulty with your hands this will prove a most welcome addition to your kitchen tools particularly as there are no batteries required and the opening of cans will not leave sharp edges. The lid is retained by a small magnet until wanted. The can remains firmly held by the opener until released.

This can opener has performed well for for a few years and continues to open cans efficiently, but the lever you push to release the can lid from the jaws of the opener has begun to stick, and it is a difficult and fiddly job to get it to work.
I have been looking for such a can opener for some time. So glad I found it
