I rarely review, but this product is well below par and I thought I should warn potential buyers...it runs of 4 AA batteries and has no mains connection for recharging or operation. It is thus very very slow and the spring-loaded element which pushes e.g. the cheese on the grater is weak: net result, 15min to grate a small cube of parmigiano...just tried with a fresh set of batteries!

In summary, buy a mains operated grater or go for the old school approach of grating by hand...would still be much faster than this!

It is rubbish. Not easy to use. It can only able to grate a very, very small piece of cheese a time. Waste of time and money. Not worth a mention. It will take longer time to use it. I am better using my own effort to grate the cheese myself. My poor hand. Though on second thought I will benefit from losing a few pounds in weight.

For a long time now i have been looking for an Electric Cheese Grater, and up to now without luck. Sure i could use the food processor, but it takes time to assemble, find the parts, and then clean up afterwards, too much hastle.

This machine is cheap, small, and simple. Although setting it up and installing batteries is a little tricky, but once that's done its clear sailing.

You place the cheese in the top plastic bowl, which slots into place in the main body. This can be detached and dropped in a dishwasher for cleaning. The design works well and makes sure the main body of the machine( with batteries and motor) stays clean, and needs nothing more than a wipe down after use. Another neat feature is that you can store the machine in the refrigerator, i.e. pop a couple of chunks of cheese in the machine, store the whole machine in the fridge, and then take out and use for fresh grated cheese whenever you need with absolutely no work. Alternatively it comes with a seperate sealable container for storing grated cheese as well, so take your choice.

It is not the fastest grater, but the results are very fine and light, which personally i like. So all round and excellent choice, enjoy.

Not worth the hassle to clean!
Nice idea - but it's one of those gadgets that takes longer to clean and put back together again, than the time it saves grating! Read more

    A "NO - GO" GRATER
I have always used a conventional hand grater and was really looking forward to not having bits of skin in my grated cheese, so when my Power Grater arrived I couldn't wait to try... Read more

    excellent product
A little confused by other reviews regarding slowness etc. It probably isn't the fastest grater in the world but for the price it's more than acceptable. Read more

    Rubbish - Waste Of Money
A complete waste of money. Only works with new batteries and consumes them quickly. Makes more of a mess having to chop up the cheese and then grate it. Read more

    One touch power grater
This was too fiddly, difficult to assemble if someone has small hands. The bowl is only suitable for small amounts - and as it's battery operated costly to use. Read more

    Do you hate grating cheese?
I loathe grating cheese, this little gizmo is fantastic. Not as fast as a food processor but so much smaller and cheaper. I love it.

    Manual is better
Filling the grater is flimsy and then it grates extremely slow. I only tried it with cheese, don't want to imagine how this will work with chocolate or nuts. Read more

    Rubbish
Grating with an old fashioned grater would be quicker and easier. The container is far to small, which means you have to cut the pieces up very small. Read more
