As a crumpet ring this works extremely well- you need to pour a yeasted batter mix (just over half way) to ensure the proper crumpet bubbles form. The "ears" are fantastic for stacking them and pulling the ring off the hot griddle to turn the crumpet over. Just be patient enough (unlike me) to let it cool down a little before you clean it for a second batch. As I'm using a griddle, the best quantity for me is 3 rings- because duh, you have to have space to turn them over. I'm not a wonderful expert at making crumpets yet, but they are certainly more deliciously fresh than claggy supermarket bought ones. Find a recipe which has a batter which you pour out of a jug (I initially tried a Delia one from Book of Cakes (Coronet Books) which was far too stiff). Oh and they really don't last very long once you've made them.
As the batter didn't seep out at all, it would probably work well for fried eggs too!

I love this egg ring: eggs are cooked in a lovely round shape and the silicone ring can be used with non-stick pans and allows eggs to be shaken around, then it goes in the dishwasher. Moreover, the nicely shaped egg can ALL fit in a sandwich which I take to work for lunch.

Love the idea but can't get the results I expect. Egg typically leaks out under the ring, defeating its purpose. I found the adding some extra oil does seal the ring to the pan & prevent the egg leaking out but then the bottom half of the egg is overcooked.
Perhaps it "takes getting use to"? I was disappointed that it didn't do as I'd hoped - cook a perfectly round egg.

Good idea but doesn't work
Nice idea but it doesn't work too well - the egg white sticks to the side of the egg ring so it becomes messy when trying to remove the fried egg from the pan. Read more

Perfect for crumpets - they don't stick!!

The title for this item is misleading. There are not two egg rings in the box, there is only one. The item is great, but be aware that you will only recieve one egg ring.
