We moved to a Cuisinart multi temp kettle 2 years ago after our Eco kettle failed, and we had had enough of buying a new Eco kettle every year as models changed but did not improve. So we pushed the boat out and began our journey with cuisinart. We bought the first model, "always on" that pre-heated the water to a tepid level. Great. Loved it: but after a year the pre-heat facility failed. The kettle was changed. It worked fine for a few months but failed again. Whenever we spoke to customer services the comment was always "our products do not fail". So the next kettle was the current style. " no pre-heat"..ah.. This review arises because we have agreed to part ways with Cuisinart after our 3rd new kettle LEAKED FROM THE BASE, again!. The last one blew our ring main and was replaced 3 weeks ago. Today, I heard the kettle "arcing" after only 3 weeks, phoned Cuisinart immediately as water leaked from the lower joint, and have agreed a full refund, but it is time for these small but dangerous conditions to be addressed. Come on Cuisinart. You have probably the best kettle on the market for brewing specialist teas, but not until these issues are sorted out.

This kettle looks very nice in the kitchen, especially with the blue light; however, this is a top price kettle and I would have expected better. It is very noisy!! It's quick but is the noisiest kettle I have ever had. To open the lid, you press at the top of the handle which has 'open' printed on. The print has worn off within a week!!! Also the 'max' mark on the transparent plastic has also worn off so you don't know where the maximum fill level is. The kettle will have to go back and despite its good looks, it has too many basic design flaws for the money. Invest in something else.
