I bought the Cuisinart bread maker after looking at numerous models. I'm a bread maker virgin, and so don't have anything to compare, but I'm really pleased with my choice. It makes really good bread, great cakes (particularly ginger cake) and looks the part. The crust on the top of the loaves are flaky, but that might be the same for all machines, but the taste is great. One critisism that I read was that the stainless steel marks, and is difficult to clean, but when do you touch it? You remove the baking tin put in the ingredients, put the tin back in the machine, and set the programme, at no point do you touch the stainless steel. So, it makes great bread, looks good and is efficient, what more do you want? Maybe a cheaper price? If you can afford to have a £150 machine sitting on your work top, then buy one of these, you won't regret it.

I have been looking for a bread maker for a long time now and I am so pleased that I chose this one.

First of all it does 2LB (or 1000g) loaves of bread as well as smaller 600g ones.

It has several different programmes on the menu, including pizza dough and cakes, Jam and compote.

It has a nut and seed drawer, but then so have many cheaper bread makers

There is a programme that you can set up for yourself so you can make bread your way.

So far I have stuck to the basic programme for a variety of breads and the quick setting for Brioche, which was a great success.

However the thing which sets this bread maker apart from the rest in my humble opinion is not all the settings, the ease of use, the ease of cleaning, the hold warm for 1 hour and timer settings, pr the fact that it is solid and well engineered, it is the fact that it produces a very light, very well risen loaf of bread with excellent texture, that is superb to eat.

Recommended without a moment of hesitation.

This may be expensive, but it's worth every penny. I've used several different breadmakers before and this one has them all beaten hands down, to the extent that there are very few types of bread I'd now rather make by hand. It's also very good-looking (that photograph doesn't do it justice, because it makes it look a bit tinny - it's actually a big, strong, handsome thing that would lend style to any kitchen.)
