5.0 out of 5 stars Not scary but really funny, 25 Jul 2002
By A Customer
This is a really funny book. It tells the story of a boy called michael who is bein drivin nuts by his bratty little sister Tara. She does everything she can to not only annoy him, but to embarress him infront of all his friends and the girl that he really likes.

It starts of at michales birthday party where tara finds lots of ways 2 annoy and embarres him by doing stuff like openong his presents when his freinds come round and telling the girl he likes that he loves her! But it gets really embarrising for michael when he is carrying his birthday cake which is huge and covered in chocolate sauce and as he walks past tara, she puts her foot out and trips him and he falls flat on his face in the cake right in front of all his frinds who all laugh at him including the girl he likes!

so he wants revenge and breaks the clock that there dad had bought so he can blame it on tara but it takes him back in time. he has his birthday all ova again but again nothing goes right and instead of puting her foot out, tara graps his foot this time and again his face goes in the cake.

But then he starts getting younger and younger and eventually tara disapperars, he has got to fix it before he disapears forever aswell...........!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I say to all fans of books, "Read on!", 23 Jul 1996
By A Customer
This was the first R.L. Stine book that I had ever read. Now I have read over 50 books by R.L. Stine. He is one of the greatest young adult authors that I, personaly know of. His Fear Street and Goosebump books are a huge hit at the Dallas City, Illinois Public Jr. High School. I loved this book, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, and have read it 2 or 3 times! I could really get in to it because I have an older brother that I also would sometimes like to have disappear. He has done some of the things, like tell my crushes that I like them, as in this book. I am also a big fan of things like time travel. In this book, Cuckoo Clock of Doom, a boy of about 12 or 13 years of age gets sent back to the past over a few days of his life only to try to get back. This boys frustration I can sempathize with. I haven't been sent back through time, no. I have had hard time witch I thing everyone can understand. The adults that I know of don't even celebrate their birthdays to the extent that the younger genaration dose today. When an audlt reads this book, even though it's geared for young adults, they will enjoy this book remembering the good times that they have had as a youth. For all of the above resons is why I recomend this book to any person of any age. The only reson I give this book only a 9 is because I have read a few, not many, books that I thought bettter. I am glad to say, though they were by R.L. Stine. Teneil Casady

I did not like this story because it was pretty dull. It did not have the best details and it had no pictures. You should be able to see what the events are like. Read more
