I'm a big fan of Call of Cthulhu RPG, and the system Chaosium developed to play it. Having already got Cthulhu Dark Ages (set around the year 1000, + or - 50 years) I was really excited to see this offering.
Frankly, I love it! Players have the option of creating virtually any character that could be found anywhere in the Empire, from slaves to senators, taking in farmers, merchants, legionnaires, client-state militants and many more.
Keepers have creatures from both the established Cthulhu Mythos AND Roman mythology as well as denizens of other contemporary folklores (Blue Men of the Minch, anybody? Blemmyes?)
Like Cthulhu Dark Ages, the depth of information is vast, well researched, and gives players and Keepers something to really get their teeth into.
As for the review title, obviously Great Cthulhu wins... what else would you expect?
