After 5 classic discs in a row it was a bit of a shock to this reviewer when this disc didnt hit the spot like the previous ones. Its not a bad disc but it certainly struggles to live upto what went before, certainly the production i hated at the time and dont much care for now, i believe Beamish gave too much gloss and some of the band's power was lost, the drum sound on the original vinyl/cd's was of the 80's and the remaster has adjusted this slightly, but you cant keep a good band down and there are still one or two absolute classics here, certainly the title track and sailin to america would always be in my set list the former a typical saxon metal classic dripping with history, imagery and great playing, the latter just a stunning song historical again and not about selling out for the yankee dollar as some fans believed. As for the rest well they are listenable and well played but they dont live up to the legacy of the earlier classics only 'do it all for you' standing out from the pack because of its commerciality,no doubt had some hair metal band, take your pick, covered it it would have rocketed up the charts, the bonus tracks are interesting in as much as several originals are heard pre glossy production and the truth is laid bare they are ok nothing more, sadly this inconsistency would haunt the band for the next decade before 'dogs of war ' signalled a come back
