Product Description

Product Description

The concluding volume of the highly-praised AQUASILVA trilogy Cathan has discovered powers within himself since his story - and that of the waterworld, Aquasilva - began in HERESY. He has also found that he is the Emperor Orosius's brother - but Orosius is dead, and Eshar is now set in his place, thanks to the Imperial Navy's king-making. Meanwhile, the religious fanatics of the Domain continue to seek out heresy - and Cathan in particular. Still refusing to attempt to place himself on the Imperial throne, Cathan studies the history of storms and the terrible effects of previous meddling with Aquasilva's weather systems. But the Domain's dogs are everywhere, and capture lays in wait for him...and with it, the discovery of his true identity, and death. Crusade completes the AQUASILVA trilogy, which has seen the young Cathan come of age, in more ways than one. In its deep politics, world-building and characterisation, it is a masterpiece of fantasy fiction from a new star.

3.0 out of 5 stars a good-ish end to a good/great trilogy, 30 April 2009

I have been waiting to read this book for a while. In my opinion it doesnt live up to the first two books in the trilogy (NB reading in order is a must). I disliked the gaps in time, compared to the first two books which focused on a certain period in the characters lives and developed the story well. For me it seemed too disjointed, and hence the 3 star rating.

That said, it is still a good trilogy which I would fully recommend. I will definitely be re-reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't read this book unless you have read the first two., 22 May 2003

This review is from: Crusade (Aquasilva Trilogy) (Hardcover)
How many good fantasy trilogies are there? The fact that the trilogy is the accepted ultimate format for the fantasy novel is a trifle bizarre when you sit down and think how many truly great fantasy trilogies there are.

On the truly great scale there used to be two.

That which really doesn't need to be named. (LOTR for you heretics out there)

Philip Pullmans Northern Lights.

There is now one more, The Aquasilva Trilogy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Crusade:Book 3 of the Aquasilva Trilogy, 14 Nov 2011

This review is from: Crusade (Aquasilva Trilogy) (Paperback)
Books based wholly on imagination rate very low on my agenda. That makes me a poor candidtate for a Reviewer of this book.
That said, once I began reading the book, I found it held my interest.
Audley writes with a fine hand. I have since read other books in the trilogy.
I was happy that Amazon carried them.Blessed are The Meek
