A new Fuji F70 deserved some loving care and the Crumpler PP70 seemed the way to keep it safe from harm. The case is snug on a camera the size of the F70, but it's possibly one of the fatter compact cameras. The stretchy neoprene fabric also helps accommodate the Fuji, but it's well worth checking dimensions if you're using one of the larger compacts, or an older camera. Anything much bigger than the F70 and you'll struggle to get the case zipped up.
As you'd expect with Crumpler, the case is well made, with a good chunky zip and substantial strap - and the slightly higher cost than other cases reflects this. The case zips open on three sides, which does make it feel less secure when you're squeezing a bigger camera in and out. A slip case with fastener on just one side might be better for some people.
Inside is a simple mesh pocket for a memory card, slim spare battery or, of you're using the case for an MP3 player, earbuds perhaps.
It's a soft case, which will offer protection against scratches in your pocket and cushion some knocks and bumps. However it's not going to protect against crushing forces, or dropping from a height - if this is important to you, a hard case might be the best option.
