Product Description

'I don't think my mum's fit to be a parent, really I don't.'

How would you feel if your mother had royal-blue hair and wore lavender fishnet tights? But Minna's whole family (including her mum's punk boyfriend, Crusher Maggot) is a bit unusual. Being the only sensible one is not easy for Minna...

It isn't easy for Minna being the only sensible one in the family, her Mum's got a punk rock boyfriend called Crusher, Granny stops speaking to Mum, Crusher runs over a dog when he's trying to sell his car, Minna's teacher wants an essay about her biological father who she's never even met and her classmates think she's really lucky. Minna is at the end of her tether, being sensible all the time isn't much fun but if she doesn't look after them all nobody else will. Anne Fine is one of the greatest contemporary children's novelist, her books are hilariously funny with an underlying theme sending a positive message to youngsters.

Crummy mummy is one of the best and funniest books I have ever read. It's witty and well written, great for all ages I still find myself laughing at it. The way each of the chapters contains a different is great, at the end of the book you feel like you know the characters more than anybody else.
Anne Fine is an author which I would always recommend she can write in any way she wants to in a style that no other author can. If someone says they don't like Anne Fine they haven't read any of her books.
