1.0 out of 5 stars Basic info, not really worth the price 10 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This "book" is little more than a list of do's and don'ts, which, while useful to novice cruisers, won't tell those who have cruised once or more anything new. It's only about 5 pages long, and can easily be read in less than 5 minutes.

If the book is available for free, download it, but don't spend any money on it.

1.0 out of 5 stars DISSAPOINTED 10 Jun. 2013

this is not a book, a short brochure, it took me 10 minutes to read, I've learnt nothing I already knew or could look up on the Internet.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Little; Too Misinformed 2 Jun. 2014
By K. A. Stevenson - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book did not cost much, but I felt that it was so short that it was hardly worth my time. I also felt that he barely touched on the most important subjects. I particularly disagreed with his idea as to whether you should tip in cash and get those envelopes ready before you sail. The overwhelming majority of cruise ships either include the tips with your fare or automatically add this to your bill. He does not mention this once and I don't think any of us want to automatically double-tip the staff unless there is exceptional service. A half-hearted attempt at a book that simply did not offer that much information.

4.0 out of 5 stars Different Approach 13 July 2013
By Rick Bissell - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
My apologies for taking a considerable amount of time between purchasing the book and reviewing it. I have been quite busy over the past two months completing my own first cruising eBook. I found your book to be very informative, especially your approach to security and safety on a cruise because as you know some of these new mega-ships can have upwards of 4000 passengers and 1500+ crew making them the size of a small city. I particularly liked the idea of bringing the low cost shoe holder to hang in the closet to create small storage compartments - I may 'borrow' that idea on my next cruise. A good book with some less thought of but important issues to reflect on before embarking on a cruise.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short but helpful 4 April 2012
By Edelweiss - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Some important reminders along the principle of "prepare for the worst", the author makes a point that each cruise ship is like a small city and not exactly a safe haven as one might think. And port visits are even less safe. So make copies and an under clothes spot for credit cards, etc. are two recommendations. It is short booklet but if it saves you hassles on an otherwise enjoyable cruise, well worth it!

Easy to read guide and may be good for a first time cruiser. All of the information is very easy to find on the internet and I found nothing new in this guide. To the authors credit they did present it in a nice format.
5.0 out of 5 stars I've read many. This is one of the best. 24 April 2014

Mr Jones gives you good food for thought that not many other cruise advise books touch on. This information just may be your best cruise companion.
