4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing value 20 May 2010
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Whovever compiled this scriptural reference book was a scholar, perhaps a saint, and possibly an obsessive personality. It is an incredibly detailed and exhaustively comprehensive source containing many hundreds of thousands of entries, so that no matter what Biblical word or phrase you are looking for, its exact position in the Bible is given.

It's a wonderful labour of love, and - whatever your religious persuasion - fascinating to take down and browse.

I bought it for a Christian friend who loves quoting scripture, and he was thrilled with it. I'm a Buddhist, but I'm also fond of Christian scripture, and I have my own copy to refer to if I'm stuck for a souce, or unsure of where a Bible passage came from.

I paid just a few pounds for my copy from Amazon, and it's unbelievably good value for money, considering the scholarship that went into making it, and the high production value of the text itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable!! 17 Aug 2011

Bought this extra copy of Cruden's Concordance as my old one was getting fragile, and the print is minute!
Quicker to find frequently occuring words, as Cruden sub-divides long word-lists to show more detailed use.
eg 'Sons' is divided into: sons, sons of God, His sons, my sons, thy sons, two sons.
I'm delighted with it. It was sent promptly; considering the reasonable price, the cover, format and print are all good. The amazing story of the disabled man who compiled this life-time's work is also included. Highly recommended.

A friend wanted this title, so I looked on Amazon and there it was. I bought it and he was very happy. Amazon is always the first place I look and it rarely disappoints.

You know the passage or story exists in the Bible and you know some of the words but can you find the place in the Bible quickly for the whole passage? If you're like me the answer is no! Well, this book is the answer; gets you straight to the place where you want to be - and fast. The 'must have' for those who need to know where to find stuff in the Bible. For example 'consider the lilies how they grow'. Look up the word lilies, for example, and it will tell you every place in the Bible where the word 'lilies' crops up - and it also gives the words alongside the word 'lilies' so you can immediately recognise the passage you are looking for. A wonderful reference book!
