The M.2 form factor (formerly known as Next Generation Form Factor) is on the cutting edge of SSDs and unfortunately at the time of writing, won't be any quicker than SATA 3 SSDs. On the other hand, if SATA 3 SSD speeds are fast enough for you, getting one of these will free up a drive bay and reduce cables as it simply clips into the motherboard and screws down - no cables needed. It's certainly not any slower than the SATA SSD I was using before. And unlike the PCI-E SSDs, it can be used as a boot drive - if your motherboard supports it. I have an ASUS Z-97 PRO which recognised it as a bootable drive immediately, allowing for easy installation. I think most Z-97 boards support M.2 drives as boot drives, but YMMV - definitely check your motherboard's documentation before buying one of these. This supports either socket (M or B) but you will need to get the correct length for your motherboard (this is 2280) or you might run into problems.

The drive came in an anti-static bag without any instructions. That's okay for me as I knew (roughly) what to do, but it's clearly not being sold as a consumer drive yet. It's simple enough though: locate the M.2 socket on the motherboard (near the front of the case with the SATA ports, check your motherboard instructions), remove the screw a few inches to the left, clip the drive into the socket (it will only go in one way) then use the screw to fix the other end into place (don't tighten it too much).

I've had no problems with the drive. But one thing to note is that these can get VERY HOT. They have no heatsinks, unlike PCI-E SSDs.

Good: Nice item and an idol when your Hard Drive Bay getting crowd, M.2 slot is definitely a great invention. No additional driver required, just plug it in.

Down side: this product is using SATA route which means its nothing different than SATA version, both them get the AS SSD Benchmark score around 970-1000. So it is not playing all the power of M.2, and also not working well like other SSD using PCIE route. Waiting for the PCIE version if you are looking for higher performance SSD.

Fastest hard drive I've ever used. Setup experience was same as a regular hard disk, so don't worry about M.2 being different if you're used to SATA.
