Although this is clearly a quality item and really looks the part, the assembly of the shaft to the base is only by a conical grub screw which cannot support the turning moments applied by the weight of the shaft and the toilet roll. Add to this the fact that the base cover is attached by a single screw which loosens unless some screw locking adhesive is applied, then the whole assembly continually rotates and drops the toilet roll to the floor. A potentially good product spoiled by a basic design fault. I have discarded mine and purchased one with support at both ends.

This is great quality for the price. I'd been hunting around for ages looking for a toilet roll holder to match a towel rail i had and this is perfect. In the picture you don't see that it is ever so slightly curved, but not a problem. Arrived quickly as well.

Does not stay in place
How fasten I tight the screw, the horizontal bar comes lose and comes down a little bit. The toilet roll drops out too easily as it is slightly hanging downwards. Read more
