12 more episodes from the popular British courtroom drama. The series used fictional cases but the jurors were actual members of the public. Different endings were filmed to account for the verdict of the jury and this added an unusual twist to the normal courtroom dramas of the day. Episodes comprise: 'To Catch a Thief - Regina v Halsey', 'Just Good Friends - Regina v Beaumont', 'Who Was Kate Greer? - Regina v Archer', 'A Right to Life - Abbs v Richards', 'The Inner Circle - Heywood v Blower', 'The Black Poplar - Regina v Tressman', 'The Open Invitation - Regina v Sellars', 'Beggar on Horseback - Regina v Erringburn', 'The Night for Country Dancing - Regina v Airey', 'Mrs. Moresby's Scrapbook - Regina v Moresby', 'My Old Man's a Dustman - Regina v Cousins and Cousins and Mayes', 'The Judgement of Solomon - Regina v Kamuny and Kamuny'.

latest volume in the series of dvds containing episodes from the tv show crown court. this is volume four. if you've not seen any of the previous ones, then a few words of explanation are required.

crown court ran from 1972 to 1984 on itv. every week three episodes of twenty five minutes duration would be broadcast, showing a court case, from the start of it to the delivery of the verdict. and occasionally what happened next. the barristers witnesses accused and jury foreperson were played by actors but the rest of the jurors were members of the general public, who got to make their own minds up for the verdict.

not the most expensive tv programme ever, only using a couple of sets and a rotating cast of actors for the judges and barristers, this is nevertheless a hugely entertaining show, because it's excellent drama. added to that you can make your own mind up about the verdict, so there's a strong amount of audience participation. ocasional stories touch on moral issues as well - one in this volume has a doctor who aborted a retarded girl's baby being sued because of it - and they can be very thought provoking,

and they are very well written also. most present two possible explanations for a crime, and it's up to the prosecution to convince you, beyond all reasonable doubt, that the accused is guilty. you won't always agree with the verdict, but you'll enjoy watching the story anyhow.

as with other releases in this range, there are nine episodes and thus three stories on each disc, and four discs in the box. there are no subtitles and the only language these can be watched in is english.

for those who have been following this series of dvds you will have gotten used to the rotating cast of characters by now.
