Welcome to this year's 'Rocky' of Christian books!,

In a word, this book is excellent! Small, but packing a massive punch - It's the Rocky Balboa of my bookshelf...I just can't knock it down!In it, CJ quotes, 'All success in the Christian life depends on a re-capitualtion of the original terms of one's acceptance with God!' He brings us back to the MAIN THING with eloquence and sensitivity, and communicates how to live this clearly by addressing the major stumbling blocks of condemnation, legalism and being dictated to by our feelings. This is followed by a chapter of practical ideas of HOW TO live a cross-centred life built one day at a time. He closes with an appeal to not forget or shelve its message even if the book itself is never read again (although I can't imagine why this would be the case). Plain and simple. The book does what it says on the cover. If put into action, it will help you to live a 'cross-centred life, keeping the gospel the main thing'. Buy it. Read it. Put it into practice and hopefully it will knock you out too!

A Brilliant author but a high price,

Be aware that this is a very little book! I was mortified when I recieved my copy considering the price and the postage, it can hardly weigh 100g and has only 70 odd pages. Now that the bad news is out of the way, those pages are packed with a superb message put forward with the quality and passion you would expect from C.J.Mahaney. Impacting stories and examples are used to good effect to impart the message that the rich and full Christian life is a Cross centred life. I will gladly buy copies as gifts for burnt out friends but hopefully in bulk so I wont get stung by the postage. Why not combine it with another order that gets you free postage. If you struggle with reading long, difficult books, looking for the odd paragraph of something that will relate to you; then look no further! This book may be small, but its theme, the cross of Christ and how it relates to us, is huge; and life changing truth leaps out from every page.It is written with humour and intelligence...and particularly, with passion. If you are only going to read one book this year...make this the one; you will be forever grateful.
