This is a clear and brilliant account of the resistance of the Catholic Church to the Reich. And makes it cleare the Poe Pius XII was their implacable foe. and defender and active in rescue of Jewry. Would that the the so called media read this then they may have a more corect and balanced view of what did happen rather than speculation

Authoritative, well researched and compelling reading, I thoroughly recommend it to any student of Church history in the period in question. Magnificent!

John Frain book does a great service in underscoring the courage and integrity of so many outstanding Christians in facing the terrible scourge of Nazism. It clearly portrays what was the position of Catholics and the Church in facing up to the pagan philosophy of Hitler that caused so much evil, anguish and destruction. It is a lesson for us to see Christian witness in action in extreme circumstances that we hope we will be spared from experiencing. For Catholics and Christians it is a refreshing addition to serious research that responds to the false accusation that the Catholic Church connived with and supported Nazism.
