5.0 out of 5 stars Cute 26 July 2012
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Another Joan Elliott book, Sentiments and Sayings, this time some very cute truisms and a lovely Celtic Section, a Native American design featuring dream catchers, a gorgeous baby sampler, the much sought after Help Wanted teddies design and another teddy design, all delightful - I am a fan and you will see why! Many fans out there are after these books, but honestly if you pay more than 10 you have been ripped off by an unscrupulous seller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cross Stitch Sentiment 28 Dec 2011
By yorkie
Format:Paperback
This is an excellent book with over 40 cross stitch designs for you to choose from. Very colourful and humourous. The charts are easy to follow and understand. And the instructions help from beginning to end. An outstanding book to add to your cross stitch collection. You won't be able to put it down as you will want to try each design.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it! 26 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A really good book with the usual top class Joan Elliott designs. The book is well laid out with clear easy to read colour patterns. The designs aren't too difficult with a few fractional stitches and french knots but even a beginner would be able to do most of the patterns. I would recommend to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another lovely Joan Elliott book 14 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback
This is another lovely book from Joan Elliott. As with "A Woman's World", the front cover design really doesn't do justice to the lovely designs inside. There are a wide variety of styles and sizes and some of the samplers are just lovely.

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book 20 Jan 2005
By Stella Nemeth - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is a wonderful book. I got it out of my local library and came into Amazon to find out how expensive it is because I intend to buy it. I have never seen this designer before and I'm very pleased with her style. The characters are happy but aren't too cartoonish. The projects that don't have "people" or "bears" in them are elegant.

There are both large and small projects, and projects with and, in the case of some of the small ones, without sayings. I like the alphabets that are used. The charts look clear, and although I haven't yet tried any of them out, I think even the larger projects are relatively easy to do because there are very few half stitches. The half stitches seem to be mainly in the face areas on some, but not all, of the projects.

I especially like the baby sampler, good for either a boy or girl, and the elegant wedding sampler.
