A beautifully presented book with many exciting projects.

Adele Welsby's 'Cross Stitch Characters' is a wonderfully set out and beautifully presented hardback book. The colour charts are a joy and the instructions for the projects are simple and easy to follow. There are also plenty of other ideas or variations that you could stitch.
Welsby introduces each project with a justification of her choice of characters and suggestions for gifts and framing. She also frequently includes a 'Stitching Ideas' column of how to adapt the project to suit your needs, for example, the picture used on a placemat could become a patch on a t-shirt.
This book will make you want to dive straight in and start stitching, but will probably leave you wanting a larger variety of character depictions and more of them. However, with luck, this will be the first in a long line of 'character' cross stitch chart books.
