'Genesis' is an absolute monster of an electro song. Hook-laden, hard-hitting and as unrelentingly funky as anything Daft Punk have done. The only weak tracks are 'Valentine' and 'The Party' which seem kind of bland and uninspired compared to everything else.
Yes, the music is complex and not altogether danceable at times unless you're extremely intoxicated and don't care what you're listening to anyway, but the ambition and drama here trumps any electro record I've heard in a long time.
The music is loud and should be played loud. It's not subtle but it definitely feels clever and the last 30 seconds or so of 'DVNO' has a tense, tight, rythmic beat not too different from the one in 'We Are Your Friends' that makes me want to spasm-dance with joy. The rest of the music is pretty funk-tastic too.

Fine Electro, 20 Aug 2009
Whoever likes Daft Punk combined with a few harder rhythms likely will love Justice, but comparisons like this could also be misleading.
In general it's a very creative album, most of the tracks are danceable, a few come with a sympathetic French touch. The first track 'Genesis' is a real genesis when you put the cd in your player for the first time.
The only song not fitting there is 'Valentine' which sounds as if another French band Air, but here with tooth ache, had overtaken the studio while recording it. 'Stress' on the other hand sounds like a genuine Chemical Brothers track (Push The Button, Galvanize).
Two tracks are even used on game soundtracks, which would be 'Waters Of Nazareth' (GTA IV) , also being the best song in my opinion, and 'Genesis' (Need For Speed - Undercover); this is how I originally discovered Justice.
This cd is made for loud listening. I fully recommend it to people listening to Electro. At least half of the songs should be on the normal Electro DJ's playlist.
The one cd I love more is their live album 'A Cross The Universe' - go check it out, too!

Epic Album, Electro has Evolved., 8 Jun 2009
When i first head "Waters Of Nazareth" i thought somthing in the C.D player had broken, and all that was coming from the speakers was a pounding wall of Noise. Part right, part wrong. The c.d player was not broken, i was infact listening to Justice!
Cheese aside, This album truly is a benchmark for Electro albums, and their sound is truly refreshing. Part Daft Punk inspired Francais electro, and part Metallica laden metal, this is unlike anything you think you have heard before. Almost seamless in its recording, each song seems to leap from one another, taking you on quite a rollercoaster, from the Epic Genesis, to the party anthems DVNO and D.A.N.C.E, and then landing with 2 minutes to midnight.
Electro producers/creators, Justice, leapt from the French Electro scene, and "Cross" is their first studio album. Fingers crossed their next attempt will be just as refreshing.
