Buy the PS3 version and you get a PSN code to download the Vita version for free from the store, Buy the Vita version and you WONT get the PS3 version for free. So it makes sense to buy the PS3 version as your getting a Vita game priced at £30 for free.
It's called "Cross Buy" and other Sony games will also support this like the new Sly Cooper game and the latest Ratchet and Clank. It's the same deal for many PSN only games too like Sound Shapes, Hustle Kings and so on, buy on one system and get the other one free.
The game features cross play (PS3 vs Vita online) and cross save (carry on with your progress, save, across both games) Also all future DLC will be cross compatible so you only need to buy it for one platform.
Actually its only for the PS3 version unless you buy the game off the store. Otherwise you could just buy the cheaper Vita version and get both. PS3 version includes the free Vita version. The cheaper Vita version does not include the more expensive PS3 version.
Does the cross-buy only work on a digital download? Because to my knowledge the US retail (disc) version has a code for a free PS Vita copy, does this apply to the UK version as well? I'm asking because it is stated nowhere whilst Game does have a poster with 'Cross-buy' under the product details.
Sorry for the double post but it will bring attention to the topic :) anyway, here's a direct quote from the Playstation Blog (EU blog):
'Cross-buy works when you insert your PS3 game disc into your PS3, you follow the on-screen instructions to recieve your PS VITA version, as a download from the PS Store. It's tied to your PSN ID so you won't be able to give away the PS VITA version to a friend. I hope this answers your question.'
Game definitely has the cross-buy functionality, still not sure about amazon though.
