5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating detective search for the cause of an illness, 27 May 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Crooked Angels (Hardcover)
This is a gripping, factual book. It is a psychological detective story where the villain is a mysterious illness that strikes the author out of the blu. It tells of her search for the cause of the cage of pain in which she suddenly becomes trapped. I was engrossed by the clear descriptions of her life and the rediscovery of her past as she seeks to track down the reasons for her condition. I was also moved by her courage in fighting the pain and her determination to get well again. The book is unusual, possibly unique, in conception -- and beautifully written.

The mind-body, emotion-body, families-and-members link is thoughtfully explored in this beautifully written account of a mysterious illness and the background the sufferer is encouraged to explore in pursuit of a cure.

5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful exploration of a very personal pain, 5 April 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Crooked Angels (Paperback)
This book tells the author's own story of a journey through disabling pain to emotional and physical healing. Waking one morning in severe pain, this previously fit and able women details her experience with conventional medicine, which is unable to help, or even diagnose her condition. Her pain takes her on a journey of discovery, which ultimately leads her to an understanding of her childhood experiences, and how they have contributed to her current difficulties. It is only when she is able to release her emotional pain that her physical pain can be eased. This is an inspiring book which will have resonance for many who struggle with pain, both emotional and physical.
