Big animal horror directed by Tobe Hooper. 100 years ago, Lake Sobek was a tourist attraction due to the presence of an enormous Nile crocodile. However, when the creature went beserk one night and ate nearly everyone in sight, the locals burnt down everything, including the lake's hotel. Cut to the present day and a group of friends are moored on the banks of the lake. When one of the party discovers a crocodile nest, he steals an egg and plants it in his girlfriend's rucksack as a joke. What he does not realise is that the mother crocodile has been watching him all along...

It was a pretty cool film but watching teenagers standing there screaming for ages, even though the crocodile isn`t anywhere near them was hysterical! Like this one girl who gets her leg caught in a tree trunk screams and screams before the crocodile is in sight and then it comes opens it`s mouth wide and she falls in (basically!). The story wasn`t very good. But it was a good film there is a couple of jumps, and some cool scenes!
Worth a rent out with mates for a laugh but is a fairly good horror movie!
I for one think this movie is really good, it had some good scare scenes which made me jump.Acting in this movie was not great but not bad at all as i have seen much worse. For me this movie never got boring has i was really griped into the story! Very good cheesy /scary Crocodile movie
A big croc has gone on a bit of a rampage. The brunt of its anger is quite rightly directed toward a bunch of annoyingly clean cut, fit and manicured spring breakers. Some local yokels and a local hunter who has a personal grudge against this previously elusive beast... actually I don't need to tell you this; you're smart, you know what happens.
Theres a couple of good jumps and you cant help but cheer the beast on when the student w**ker's boat gets totalled (a "we're gonna need a bigger boat" feel). I was impressed with the close up croc puppet he looks pretty vicious when he's chowing down people. That's the 'pros' sorted. On the 'cons' side I could go on a while if I start using words like "acting" and "dialogue" or "atmosphere" and "exposition" so, I wont. You'd be a fool if you bought a film called "crocodile" and expect "taxi driver"! Ill just say one thing myself and a lot of my friends say, feckin CGI effects... Just cos you have the technology doesn't mean you have to use it! They just seem to make a cheap film look even cheaper!
If it's a mindless time killer or background noise you're after you can do a lot worse than this film. Oh, and if you do pick it up look out for the helicopter pan over the students boat about ten minutes in, the pilot manages to whip all their jackets into the mill pond lake! Tremendous!
I love rubbish creature features, and I own a shameful number of them, and this is easily the worst. I will put this in easy to understand terms:
This film is not so bad it is funny, this film is just so bad.
Perhaps it's because the actors are marginally (it's a wafer-thin margin) better than many low budget B movies. Perhaps Tobe Hooper realises that the key to horror is not revealing too much of your monster. Perhaps I'm giving everyone involved too much credit.
But this is a creature feature, not Alien, we want to see the crocodile munch the bad actors every other minute! Instead we are treated to endless reams of boring dialogue between totally forgettable characters.
Seriously, you won't laugh, you may cry, you will rapidly forget, and you will certain want your time and money (god forbid you paid any) back.
Alright, so these kinds of films don't need complicated plots. But this is one of the best "killer reptile" films out there. Directed by horror veteran Tobe Hooper, it's a masterpiece of suspence with some well-staged shocking moments. The characters are all well-written and well-defined, from the naive teenagers to the dry-humoured Sheriff and the ghoulish animal keepers. A great film, all in all. It's genuinely tense and frightening without being too nasty, and it will keep you hooked.

No problem's with crocodile. It works great, Im happy with the film, I wanted it for along time, con't find it intill I went on Amazon.
Ths film is so bad it is brilliant. It genuinely feels that the actors and the crew making the film got to half way and realised it is s***e so they played up from there.Published 15 months ago by M. A. Rogers

Seriously awful film - but if, like me, you enjoy watching bad monster movies and laughing at the hammy acting and dreadful CGI, this will not disappoint.Published on 19 Feb. 2013 by M.Edwards
