I love it. My daughter points out that I'm a morning person with lots of energy in the mornings. I can cut, chop, dice, and prepare food for dinner in the morning, and leave the rest to my Crockpot slow cooker. In the evening, I'm tired, since having the Crockpot, I can sit back and relax a bit, dinner's ready. This is my first slow cooker, if I had to buy another, I'd buy exactly the same one. It cooks roasts, stews, soups nicely. Low heat roasts a whole chicken, or cooks a vegetable soup from raw vegetables in 9 to 10 hours, high heat cooks a delicious Irish lamb stew in under 6. Red kidney beans and lentils take a little longer but that's no surprise. So easy to program timings I can do it myself without my 14 year old helping. It looks great on the kitchen counter, and it's easy to clean. A few recipes are included with the booklet, however there are plenty of recipes available on the internet so that wasn't a concern. I have no hesitation recommending this slow cooker.

After my last slow cooker died I did my usual thorough research and ended up buying one of these. Not quite as big as my last one but this seems to be the biggest size generally available now. It is plenty big enough to feed 6 people and could well do 8 although I haven't tried yet.
At the risk of repeating the spec. it has a low and high setting and automatically switches to warm when the time is up (and the warm function really works well.) Very easy to operate, you just select the heat setting and use plus or minus to set your cooking time. There is no need to preheat this one.
The thing I really love about this is the lid/bowl design. All my previous slow cookers had a problem with the fact that when they were being used closed to full the liquid would condense on the lid and bubble through the lid edge and either run down the outside of the cooker or run down the gap between the crock pot and the metal heating base (subsequently staining the metal which was difficult to clean). This one has a flexible rubber seal on the bottom of the lid which virtually eliminates any leakage but also the lid sits well inside a sort of collar on the crock pot which mean it will not leak over the edge.
Great product, great design features and the only thing that could improve it would be a delayed start. However I couldn't find a slow cooker that had this feature. Strange as it seems an obvious design feature to include and would require little extra cost.

Edited, November 2014:
This crockpot has now completely stopped working. It simply turns itself off within a minute or two of powering it on. Disappointing, since it did cost a bit, and actually hasn't gotten used *that* much over the last few years.

In May 2012, we bought a 2.4 litre crock pot, for £20 including shipping to Sweden, and that's gotten used a lot more, so the large one has spent a lot of the time in the cupboard.

One thing I didn't mention in my original review (because I was so excited by it at the time), was that the stoneware pot cracked within the first few weeks of using it. It's still not completely broken, but there's a crack that goes through the whole bottom of it, and there's sometimes a slight leak through this crack.

I'm still debating whether to buy another one, or to look at something a bit different. Maybe buy a combination crock pot / sous vide? That might be just the excuse I needed, since my wife has been sceptical about the sous vide thing. Although we juse the smaller crock pot more often, the size of this is sometimes very handy, and so is the timer. We've missed it over the last few days, when cooking stock from the bones of 3 lambs.

Original review, August 2011:
We've had ours since March 2011, and although we don't use it much in the summer, I still love it. It's a perfect size - not so big that it's impossible to cook for just two, but still big enough to cook a whole chicken, and comfortably cook for four adults, and still have left overs. The stoneware pot is easy to clean, and looks nice enough that you can just put it down on the table and serve straight from the pot.

i think it looks nice and neat on the worktop, food cooks well.

the only thing, i thought it had a delay timer so when i'm at work for 10 hours i thought i could start the cooking on delay a few hours later. but it actually does the cooking first then switches to keep warm function which is also fine. suppose it stops the food sitting there on the work top cold with the mixture of raw meat/veg.
got a beef casserole in it today :-)

We too bought this item based on good reviews and the stone pot cracked after a few months. As not covered by warranty ordered a replacement for £22 from the Crockpot Customer Services. After having our money for over two weeks and tellings us it will be with us soon it never arrived. After further complaints we were then told the pot is not stocked despite taking our money. Fair enough the money was then refunded, but will not buy another Crockpot, Crockpot's UK after sales service is unacceptable. Please bear this in mind if purchasing.
