With this delightful book you can crochet 20 cute teds and mix and match the crocheted outfits to create your own little character. All the projects are based on the same simple teddy, which stands 12cm or 4in tall. At this size it won't take you long to crochet up a collection for yourself or to send out in little packages to friends and family. Crochet beginners should find it easy to complete the bear, and if you're more advanced you can even make adjustments to the basic pattern to make it more your own. A delightful little book full of the cutest bears ever. Lots of different options to mix and match the outfits to create your own unique little character. Well worth the money and would highly recommend.

I purchased this book as I had recently received its knitting counterpart 20 To Make: Knitted Tiny Bears (Twenty to Make) as a way to help a local charity with fundraising. Its a book which is easy for newcomers to the craft as it has just one bear to make and then 20 outfits to look different - or more if you want to mix and match from thereon in. Certainly well worth the money and if you want to have 40+ outfits, then I'd suggest it really is good value to get the knitted book too. After that, all I can say is happy teddy making!

Annoying 16 Jun 2011
Format:Paperback
Ugh, this book is highly irritating.

The bears themselves are cute and there is a nice variety of accessories. However, every single instruction in every line of every pattern gives both the American and the English crochet terms. You may think this is a good idea, but it really isn't. It makes it so much harder to wade through all the instructions you don't need and makes the pages very cluttered. Why, oh why didn't they follow the standard rules of sticking to one set of abbreviations and putting a nice big abbreviation/conversion table at the beginning. You wouldn't expect to read a book written in two languages at the same time so why do it here?

So I am giving three stars. The bears may be nice, but there are much better patterns out there.
