Crochet the "Graduated Stitch Method Way", also comes under the title of "Crochet that Fits", as did mine, with the same cover photo. I think the technique offered is a real eye opener to create your own designs. I have in mind fitted jackets with a gentle flair peplum base, and fitted vests. These items are not included in the book as I had hoped, but now I have the 'know how', thanks to Mary Jane Hall. From my perspective too much space was given over to scarves, bags, and open netting effect tunic and shawl.

This book does exactly what it claims - teaches a graduated stitch method easily, meaning you can create beautiful garments with no fuss.

The patterns are beautiful - and it is so easy to see how to develop the designs to fit your own body and adapt the method for your own use. Beautifully clear instructions - very highly recommended! I think all crocheters will love this book.

These patterns are all done from the side to side to do the shaping
There is no actual sticth pattern variation It is all done in double/single crochet in the back loop only and looks chunky, not very inspiring. Glad I borrowed fron the library first(and took it straight back!) as I wouldn't buy it. Keen crocherts should look at Melody Griffiths,Doris Chan and Lily Chin's books, much better!

I love the technique that is put forward in this book - definitely a must-have for learning side-to-side clothing construction. My only nit-pick is that there are some items in here which aren't for wearing and don't really make full use of the side-to-side method (like a boxy handbag and a wave stitch purse) so I'm not sure what they're doing in here. Seems like they were filler patterns. However, there are three good patterns in here which are on my definite make list, and a few others which are possibles.

This book is informative and could lead to some really nice items being made. I felt that the patterns became a little repetitive after a while but I did like the finished results.

This was one of the best crochet books I have, I made the dress on the front and it turned out perfect. The graduated stitch method was easy and works beautifully, great new technique.

This book is an excellent introduction into graduated patterns, but you must remember they are in American crochet
