I have been buying crochet books for years now, and very rarely have I been truly excited by any of them. But it happened with this one : finally garments you would actually want your kids to wear (no fuzzy yarn in sight!). I haven't tried any of them yet as my daughter is only 1 and most patterns start at size 3 or so. But they look very simple, only using basic stitches, and maybe it is why this book is so good, it shows us that often less is more, and it is never more true than with crochet. So no frills, only simple yet creative clothes. Probably the best book in my crochet library!

I taught myself crochet and bought this book only a few months after starting. It is super-easy to follow (FYI - it uses US stitch names) and I have already finished the little pinafore dress in there. A lot of the patterns are US single crochet or otherwise quite straightforward stitches. The designs are wonderful - such cute outfits - the little coat shown on the cover is one of many! The designs are shown for 2 - 4 years old so not appropriate if you want baby patterns. Definitely recommended for beginners. I can't wait to start on my next project!
