Product Description

Cristiano Ronaldo is the perfect footballer. He is a natural leader on the field, with his inspiring runs, powerful strikes and uncanny ability to find the back of the net. Despite his tender age he has lead both Manchester United and Portugal to victory on countless occasions with ease. Off the field he is the ultimate marketing machine, women and men alike adore him and his young fans mimic in every way they can from his football boots to even copying his hairstyle. So, what is it about Ronaldo that has the football world in awe? Throughout this program we chart the young superstar s career from his birth in Madeira in 1985, to his first game for Sporting Lisbon at the tender age of 16. We take a look at his career at Manchester United and his contribution to the club s dominance of the Premier League whilst comparing him to previous Manchester United legends who have worn the famous number 7. We also follow his international career with Portugal and explore the players who influenced him at this level in particular Portuguese legends Luis Figo and Eusebio as well as hearing what Pele, one of the greatest players of all time, thinks of this young talent. Finally this fascinating documentary takes an in-depth look at what lies ahead for Ronaldo including the rumours of which club he will play for next, why his fans love him so much as well as comparing him to other great, young players of World football. Discover the true story behind the football hero, including rare footage from on an off the pitch this fascinating program offers an insight into one of the greatest players to grace the world stage in recent years.

I feel cheated. 28 Oct 2008
This is 53 minutes long and poor, very poor. The director appears to have shot footage of Ronaldo training with Portugal and with Man Utd before the Champions League final and then put a voiceover on it. I counted at least fifteen clips that are repeated, some are used three times, one is used four times! On occasions it's not even about Ronaldo, with a lengthy detour into Beckham and his marketing potential and then into the fame of George Best under the pretext that, like Ronaldo, they both wore No. 7. The pictures seem disconnected to the narration: for example, when Ronaldo's debut against Bolton is mentioned we see a clip of Ronaldo training. The same happens when his Champions League final goal is mentioned ... the director simply does not have the right illustrative footage, only some of Ronaldo training. On rare occasions the characters in the story speak but it's mostly voiceover. Don't be deceived by the wonderful cover ... it's a complete waste of money!

By Russ
A dvd given to my 6 year old that talks about lap dancing and prostitution amoungst footballers!!
This raised a few unwelcome questions and it was complete and utter rubbish so don't waste your money on this.
It did make a good frisbee though.

Pretty Good 3 July 2009
I am a great Ronaldo Fan. I bought this DVD hoping to learn a bit more about Ronaldo and it certainly delivered.

I'm a bit of a celeb junkie so I was quite at home with the magazine style of this programme. It focused more on Ronaldo's celebrity life, personal life and career prospects etc.

I really enjoyed veging out to this candid documentary; I learned about Ronaldo and I had a good time doing it.
