THE STORY:
Twenty years after 'Return of the Jedi', the young Jedi Knights set off in pursuit of their errant friend Anja Gallandro, but become embroiled in Black Sun's plans for galactic domination.
WHAT'S GOOD:
I enjoyed the fact that Black Sun, rather than simply being a shady criminal empire, actually makes a play to take over the New Republic. Somehow it gives you greater respect for the organisation. I was also pleased to see the return of Nien Nunb (the endlessly humourous alien who copilots the Millennium Falcon in 'RotJ'). In fact, I rather enjoyed most of the stuff that happens on Kessel. It was also pleasing to see Anakin, Tahiri and Ikrit (from the Junior Jedi Knights series) put in a cameo appearance at the end.
WHAT'S BAD:
Sadly, the non-Kessel bits of the story aren't up to much. The parts in the submersible on Mon Calamari is a major cliche that we've seen a dozen times before in one form or another. Despite my above praise for Black Sun's power-grab, there is one major flaw in it; there is no way their plan could possibly have worked and only an idiot would think otherwise. All in all, this isn't the dramatic climax to the series that I'd hoped for.

This book was great! Finally Anja has admitted to herself that she is addicted to Andris Spice. She also realizes that Jacen and Jaina are her friends and doesn't want to hurt them any more. It was about time that the New Republic recognize the Young Jedi Knights for all the work that they had done for them. My only regret is that there is a rumor going around the Book World that this book will be the last book that Kevin Anderson and Rebecca Moesta write on the Young Jedi Knights series. I hope that that is not true. I'm sure that every fan wants to see what will happen to the Jedi Knights relationships and what they will do in the future. So Kevin Anderson and Rebecca Moesta, if you happen to read this review, please don't stop writing these books! They're great and I'm sure every fan wants to see what the Jedi Knights will do with they're futures, not to mention they're relationships. Anyway, this book is awsome and if you want to read it you better hurry because I got the last book that they had in stock.

As always the writing team wrote another great novel for the Jedi. Things become clear for Anja and we see a true beauty in her sorrow. Plus you see more of the relationships between both of the couples I believe to be destined to each other, Tenel Ka/Jacen and Jaina/Zekk. Jacen also makes amends with his father in this fun trill ride of a book. As always I look foward to the next, though I am curious of how the authors will start putting Mara Jade in the books( If you have read Zahns latest you will understand).

For all you Young Jedi Knights fans, I suggest you read the last installment to the great series we all love. After completing to book I asked myself, "That was great, when the sequel?" If the authors of this charming series are reading this, I beg you, PLEASE KEEP ON GOING! Everyone wants to know what happens to Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, Lowbacca, Em Teedee, and Zekk! (I hope I'm not the ONLY one!) the series as so far been exciting and interesting and how could it stop? Please let the series go on!

This one was pretty good, but not as good as the first books in the series were(Heir to the Force, etc.)but it was still okay. I thought that there could have been a little more interaction between Tenel Ka and Jacen, and Jaina and Zekk. Also, why wasn't Mara in this book? Didn't Anderson and Moesta read Vision of the Future? They should have, if they were writing in this universe. All in all, the book was okay.

I think this book was a breakthrough for the twins when they face their own problems through the Force on their own. While Jacen is on the luxiorius Mon Calimarian Crystal Reef with Tenal Ka, Zekk, and Cilghal searching for Anja on her search for Black Sun's hidden spice in the ocean of Mon Calimari, Jaina and Lowie are hiding in the spice mines of Kessel trying to find out Nien Numb's assasinator.

I have read all of the Young Jedi Knights books, and I have to say that this one is the best one of all! Anja is a much better character than she was in "Return to Ord Mantell", and I especially liked the ending. It's about time the kids get appreciated for all the work they've done. I just hope that more adventures with Jacen and Jaina come out soon. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!
