Crimson Sunrise: Crimson Trilogy, Book 2 [Kindle Edition]

I was eagerly anticipating the next book in the series and if you loved Crimson Moon, then you won't be disappointed. We start off with Emma recently being rescued from Scotland from the reigning prince who wished to enslave her. Decimus was scared that Emma'a ability if she was turned would rival his own and he sought to circumvent that from happening. Caleb rushed in to save the day with the help of his friends and family. Emma and Caleb are soul mates and although she cannot imagine life without him she still has residual feelings for Trent who fell in love with her when Caleb relinquished his claim to her. Now if only the two love-birds could get their lives back to normal but that is not in their future as Caleb's sister Sammi is kidnapped. Emma thinks it is Decimus trying to get to her but Caleb is not so sure. There are several OMG moments (spoilers from here on in) when an old Indian woman foretells that Emma will die, that Emma will be killed by someone she loves or in the event she is killed, can she be turned to save her life. The thread of this book is the true love will overcome any obstacle, supernatural or otherwise and hope springs eternal. I found myself hoping all with Emma that love would conquer all and the outcome was surprising. A war will be declared and sides must be chosen, I look forward to the next instalment in due course. Thanks Jaime for another great read and for a hero that is sexy and endeavouring though a bit Neanderthal at times.

When you love a book like I love Crimson Moon, there is always some trepidation when the follow up is released. Can it be as good as the first? Am I expecting too much, will I be disappointed? These were the questions that I had when I started the book. And I can say emphatically that this book met ALL my expectations. The narration was fluid and emotional, the secondary characters were intriguing, and the H/h were people you cared about. I love how Emma is maturing, how her relationship with Caleb is progressing. This book had it all, a strong continuing romance, action, and well developed plot line. Without giving spoilers, there were a few OMG moments. The big moment at the end I foresaw due to the clues in the book, but not for the reason I thought.

To sum up, this book is an excellent follow up to Crimson Moon and is on my list of books that I will be rereading. Highly recommend this book and its predecessor. Thank you JA Saare for another winner!!!!

I enjoyed this more than the first book in the series, Crimson Sunrise. I adore this author, but this series is not my favorite. I just can't root for Emma no matter how hard I try.
