Product Description

Welcome one and all to Carnival Diabolique- or what I affectionately like to call, the carnival of the damned. My name is Pandora, and though my face might not look familiar to you, you do know me. I'm a Nephilim. What does that mean? I'm half demon, what's my other name? Lust. I'm the dark craving that drives you mad, makes you want, makes you reckless and stupid. I'm the drug you'll do anything to get your hands on. But I'm not all bad. I fight for light, for goodness and truth. I love my job, killing vampires and werewolves, zombies, and freaks... it's what makes me happy. But people are starting to disappear and lately I've felt a dark presence lurking around me. I think it might be a death priest and that's really bad. There isn't much a demon like me fears, but I fear them. This should have been easy, me killing the fanged freaks, getting rid of my pesky priest problem, but I'm about to be betrayed by the one person I thought I could trust with my life and before the night is through I'll be covered in crimson...

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This book deals with the cast of characters introduced at the carnival in Jinni's Wish!

More About the Author

Marie Hall has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project. Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

The cover to the left is book 1 of my full length: Choas Time Series, release date of January 2013. Though if the Mayan Calendar was right and the world's set to end in December, well... then I hope you enjoy the picture!

4.0 out of 5 stars 3.75 stars-heartbreak and romance 2 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
CRIMSON NIGHT is the first storyline in Marie Hall's new Night urban fantasy series. The series focuses on Pandora -a Nephilim- the offspring of angels and humans-and her family of fellow Nephs aka demons hiding behind the guise of a travelling carnival for the Goth. Hiding in plain sight, the demons prowl the carnival looking for their next victim or prey. But our heroine Pandora has a difficult time accepting the beast within and it will be her reluctance to let her inner demon free that could end her life.

The storyline follows Pandora as she is ordered to uncover the mystery behind the appearance of a lair of vampires and their connection to a group of missing children. As she delves deeper into the horrors, she will uncover the truth and with it, the hurt and betrayal that will break her heart and shatter her soul.

The storyline is awash in graphically detailed violence; we follow as Pandora and her fellow demons are set up to fail when a cult demands a sacrifice of its' youngest victims. This is a story of satanic worship, human sacrifice and demon worship. But this is also a story of one woman's struggle to fit into a world where she believes she doesn't belong-and a woman who once loved but was spurned by the very person to whom she must owe her life.

The world building is colorful as the sights and sounds of the midway pull the reader into a world of our nightmares and fantasies. The characters are a mixture of good and bad; caring and aloof. We are introduced to a group of fellow Nephilim who in the end must come to the realization that not all is well in the world of the supernatural and with it, they will lose one of their before the fight is through.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally gripping 5 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this book ahead of the next in the series which I will be reviewing for Lovers of Paranormal.

This was an intelligently written and thought-provoking book. The idea of the travelling carnival as the home for nephilim was great and, weirdly, totally believable. The characters were well formed and the main two characters, Luc and Pandora, had a fascinating back story that I hope will be covered more in the next book. 'Billy'.....well what can I say other than please make a reappearance in the next book!! (without a spoiler I won't say why). I cried at the end but again you will have to read it to find out why.

A great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 24 Nov 2013
By Cass
Format:Kindle Edition
I picked this book up from the free section as part of the Magic after Dark boxed set and I enjoyed it so much I felt I had to review it on it's own page. I cannot believe the author originally had no intention of releasing this book, it was amazing. I do love to walk on the dark side occasionally and this book has it all, lust, love, betrayal, suspense, it kept me hooked from the start.

The story is told in the first person of Pandora, a sexy little demon who just happens to be lust incarnated. She lives with her very own family of demons who own a dark gothic carnival, where humans come to be entertained and end up being the entertainment! A sudden influx of vampire takes Pandora on a journey to the seedy underbelly of life, and in between the gorgeous death priest Billy turning her to liquid jelly, that is when he's not trying to kill her, the grey man, Luc and her promise to help Grace, Pandora is tumbling down the rabbit hole. A great tale with a little bit of humour injected for good measure. My only disappointment.... that the next book isn't available yet, it ends just as the story is to be continued and I can't wait to find out where the rabbit hole leads.

4.0 out of 5 stars another great book by Marie Hall 31 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) Goodreads.com**

I loved this book; it was a great first in the series with fantastic characters that kept me hooked with intrigue. It was a fantastic twist that you didn’t see coming until it was happening; the plot twists were so unexpected that it made you doubt characters who you loved.

The main character is Pandora she is a badass and sexy, with a lust demon hiding in her subconscious. The lust demon drives Pandora’s sex drive making her pretty insatiable and giving us some pretty hot situations with some hot guys. I liked Pandora as a character, her badass, take- no- crap attitude adds to the reading experience making her a in my opinion a class female heroine.

The secondary characters include Luc, Grace, the priest and Kemen. All of these characters added to Pandora’s life and her discovery as she a prophecy about her. I loved Luc as he seems to be a stable influence in her life in that he is always near her not that he is stable as a person as his explosive personality is shown at times in the book. Grace is a character I never really trusted and that’s not just because of what happens in the end, I didn’t like the way she treated her assistant but she was important to Pandora and acted as a role model. The priest was brilliantly mysterious that I loved and hated in equal measures depending on what Pandora was feeling for him. I loved Kemen, a fantastic character that I think best reflects my personality; I loved his laid back attitude and enjoyed reading about his loving moments.

The pacing was great giving us aspects of the storyline at perfect times keeping us hooked and unable to put the book down.
