I purchased this book around one month before my Criminal Litigation exam and it was brilliant as a skeleton guide to the syllabus.

It took me a few days to realise that it is set out exactly as the syllabus is, and once I noticed that it was even more useful than before. Without exaggeration: this book may well have saved myself and many more of my colleagues from failure in this exam.

Best book I have ever bought! Passed this exam first time round thanks to this book!

I'd recommend making your own notes from the syllabus when you first run through your revision, then strip them back in line with this book then just memorise the book.

I did not buy this book but used it extensively in the library. I wish I had known about it earlier!

It is a short overview / revision guide that helpfully condenses the Criminal Litigation course. I am pretty sure that if you learned the book you would pass the exam with no problems. It has a really good level of detail, and if it were not for the few cons would definitely be 5 stars.

Pros:
- Very clearly follows BPTC syllabus
- Good level of detail / overview
- Very helpful for revision

Cons:
- A few inaccuracies
- Weak formatting

we spotted a few small errors but at the end of the day this book gets you thinking about everything on the BPTC Crim L/E syllabus. Best revision tool I have ever used for anything.

My God, do I love this book!

If you're sitting the centrally set BSB Criminal exam in April 2015 and you're confused as to where to even begin revision - get this book!

It condenses all important areas which one needs to know. It has all the various evidential topics like silence, adverse inferences, confessions, good/bad character etc while also covering the procedural law basics such as the Crown Court, Magistrates Court trials, PCMHs etc.

Excellent revision guide for the criminal litigation, sentencing and evidence module on the Bar Professional Training Course. Breaks down an extensive amout of information in simple bitesize pieces and covers every heading under the Bar Standard Boards syllabus which you need to know for the exam. I would definitely recommend it as the first point of revision!
