this super 'dish', from LE CREUSET and my favourite recipe in this particular size is the perfect winter warmer:-

'Beef Casserole', from page 32, of Gordon Ramsay's Sunday Lunch: And Other Recipes from the f Word, starting off on the hob and finishing off in the oven.

Cast iron retains heat longer than any other cooking material so it is ideal for braising at the lowest of temperatures and, therefore, is very economical, too. Cast iron is remarkably easy to wash up, by hand, too - although some soaking and a rub with a plastic brush is usually required for those more stubborn baked-on remains!
Dishwasher safe.

Sturdily boxed, complete with full SATIN BLACK CAST IRON care and use instructions.
The new stainless steel knob is heatproof to 220°C, but don't forget your Oven Glove!

Simply brilliant - this versatile Casserole Dish/Cocotte/French Oven is ideal for all sorts of recipes.

My favourite in this particular size is a 'Winter Vegetable Broth', which simmers away gently and provides a tasty serving of steamy soup to whoever passes through my kitchen - served in an individual lidded Le Creuset Small Bean Pot/SOUP BOWL, with a chunk of warm buttered French bread!

Or...

...if looking for inspiration, Sue Cutts, one of the Le Creuset consultants, has a delicious recipe for this sized cocotte:-

'Comfort Chicken'/serving 6

on page 16 of her splendid book, The Cast Iron Way to Cook.

Boxed/Use and Care Instruction booklet included.
Easy to use and clean, by hand, or pop it in the dishwasher.
With a little care, these cast iron dishes last for years.

Simply brilliant - this versatile Casserole Dish/Cocotte/French Oven is ideal for all sorts of recipes.

My favourite in this sized casserole is 'Beef 'N' Beer', from:-

The Cast Iron Way to Cook, by Sue Cutts, one of the consultants for Le Creuset.

'Cooking meat in beer or ale is a centuries-old cooking technique, and the flavour harmonizes with beef particularly well.
This is a fairly rustic recipe that makes a good winter weekend meal or a casual entertaining dish......'

The recipe recommends the use of any ROUND or OVAL 24 to 29 cm size, so it is quite able to be 'tweaked' to suit the number of servings required.

For other recipe ideas, using Le Creuset, it is certainly also worth looking at Le Creuset's UK website/'Recipe Centre'.

Available in a variety of other colours and sizes, too, all at an excellent price, on Amazon, today.
