Product Description

Strange things are occurring in the neighbourhood. A mysterious snowfall, one Santa too many, and eyes of coal that watch you wherever you go.

Ten-year-old Kaity is busy trying to get rid of her mum's creepy new boyfriend and reunite her divorced parents, but her curiosity gets the better of her when she meets the new mall Santa and his enchanting daughter Blizzard. Can Kaity help them save Christmas from being destroyed by Anti-Claus - a pretend Santa who is a permanent member of the naughty list?

It's Christmas in the village of Chelferry, but this year the snowmen can move, the fairy won't stay on top of the Christmas tree, and if you listen closely to the musical Christmas cards, you can hear the faint sound of screaming over the Jingle Bells...

Creepy Christmas is a 50,000 word (approx 200 pages) novel suitable for ages 8 and upwards.

4.0 out of 5 stars Creepy indeed 17 Nov 2012

Creepy Christmas is a book allegedly aimed at the 8+ market. Having said that, I think it's suitable for anyone who likes a good, if slightly scary and creepy (for kids), story.

I saw this promoted as a freebie, but with a forum member saying they'd love to read it and the blurb sounded interesting. I started it late at night and had forgotten what it was the next day when I picked up my kindle and started reading it again. I was gripped and wanted to know what was about to happen.

10 year old Kaity is upset that her parents have split up before Christmas but is creeped out by the snowmen that have appeared like a line of soldiers in all the front gardens one morning.

The story is written in first person (Kaity) perspective. I thought the writing made Kaity seem a bit older and more mature than her 10 years. Sometime there was a bit too much repetition in Kaity saying she wants her parents to get back together, but otherwise this was a cracking read. I didn't want to put it down, even if I feel it's a little too far away from Christmas for me to get into the spirit quite yet. A thumbs up from me :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun! 14 Jan 2013

What can I say? This book was so much fun, that reading it on Christmas Eve got me right into the spirit of Christmas. I'm always sceptical of books written from a young child's point of view, as it's so difficult to get the right balance of wisdom and youthfulness, but Jaimie Admans did a fantastic job at creating the young girl in a believable way. A definite recommended read!

This is a book that answers all the questions your child could ever ask about whether Santa is real and how he can possibly be real. There is enough tension and bad guys to keep action fans entertained and enough fluff to keep those who want a gentle happy read satisfied too. The author addresses issues that children will encounter either as individuals or observe their classmates enduring, such as divorce and the pain of seeing parents parents having new relationships, with tact and insight.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Creepy Christmas Treat... 8 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a pleasing and engaging story, one that nicely balances seasonal charm with a subtle creepiness. Carefully mixing tales in a clever blend - maintaining your interest throughout. It handles sensitively difficult issues that come to the fore for many at this time of year; while finally reminding you of the importance of the simple sense of wonder that can easily be overlooked amidst the hustle and bustle.
An easy and thoroughly enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get in the Christmas mood. 30 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A cute read with some lovely underlying messages for adults and an adventure for kids. I would have loved this book when I was about ten - I agree with the other review, Kaity's voice is very mature and she has quite grown up thoughts and vocabulary. Will definitely read more by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fiendishly Festive Fun 1 Jan 2013
By Shani
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I downloaded this for my daughter, who, after finished reading it declared it a 'good book'! I didn't read all of it, but what I did read was written in a way that children can easily relate to - clear, concise and action-packed. The good santa/bad santa idea was very good as was the portrayal of angst that a separated family can cause for the children. I'll have to either dip back into it to find out how it ended or ask my child - but as far as she's concerned, it's a success!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Save Christmas 27 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Throughout December I've read some fantastic christmas books, but none of them have tested my imagination the way `Creepy Christmas' did.

This isn't just a festive book, its about SANTA and not just one santa but two santa's.
Now we are all aware of the wonderful jolly man in a red suit who brings gifts all around the world but in `Creepy Christmas' true believers also get a wish.
But now imagine an anti claus, a skinny man in a red suit who delivers gifts and is a long standing member of Santa's naughty list.

With the help of ten year Kaity can christmas be saved?

Told from Kaity's perspective we meet a host of characters from the wonderful Blizzard who is always ready to listen to Kaity's woes and talk things out, to Seth my least favourite character or as I prefer to call him Mr Nasty.

Whilst the story keeps you in suspense and keeps a great pace, I liked how it handled issues that families can face not just at Christmas but throughout the year and it was done in a sensitive way.

Its an enjoyable read that brings home how christmas is about family and loved ones, but it's so much more magical when you believe.

I BELIEVE IN SANTA, I DO, I DO
