This dvd is a remarkable tribute to a man who dedicated his whole life to the promotion of peace and the proclamation of faith. There is no narrator, Bocelli's sacred arias accompany 60 minutes of footage from the Vatican archives, some never released before. The picture constantly shifts from the day before the funeral of John Paul II, when 3 millions of people went to St. Peter's to say the last farewell to the Pope, to the year of his election, the journeys round the world, the meetings with religious authorities and Heads of States, the speeches, the World Youth days. We own a few other documentaries on the life of Karol Wojtyla, but I must say that in this one the images speak more than words. The music is beautiful and you will recognise most of the tracks of Bocelli's Sacred Arias.
Not many extras, but the three extra tracks are still nice treats, particularly the Nativity in St. Peter's Square.
Very, very moving....whether you are Christian or not, you will be left with tears in your eyes.
