If you are trying to decide wheather to get an iPod video or the Zen Vision, get the vision. It sync's so easily with the creative software AND with windows media player, the best part is the TV out though. You can bring it and its cable with you anywhere and hook it up to a Hi-Fi or TV and play your music or look at your photo library or look at videos you have on your computer, on any TV with vga inputs. You can even choose between the european PAL or the american NTSC output.It takes a reasonable ammount of time to start up (not quite as fast as an iPod, but once started it works quickly. The really large screen makes viewing photos, videos or playlists very easy. It has an integrated speaker which is impressive considering the size of it and the buit in mic helps if you need to take a note of something and you dont have any paper, or want to use it as a dictaphone. Probably the best thing about it is its really long battery life AND the option of buying an even longer battery form creative if you plan on going on a long trip. It comes with a really soft protective bag for it, had the option of an in-line remote AND even better, an infra-red remote for when its plugged into the tv or hi-fi. Its pricy but you get quality from creative AND the best customer support.

This little baby is smaller than the the original 'Walkman' yet can hold tens of thousands of photo's, all your music, and best of all - Your favourite movies. I have an hours journey to work, and I am spoilt for choice! Yesterday I chilled out and listened to some Janis Joplin, and on the way home watched West Side Story. The picture is extremely high quality, and the sound is high quality. I previously had a Creative Nomad Jukebox, and all the software associated loaded on to my pc. I am no PC expert, but To transfer over 10,000 songs from my MP3 to the Creative Zen Vision, via my pc, took little over 30 minutes, and was extremely painless. No doubt I'll think of lots more ways to use this smashing little gadget, (Leads are supplied - so plug into your hotel room tv whilst you're on holiday!) Forget the airline movies - or having to pay £3 for a pair of rented headphones on budget airlines. If they can integrate a mobile telephone and blackberry into this machine and keep the size the same - then my life will be complete. (No doubt they will!!!)

You have a choice with MP4-portable-media playing things (technical term), you can go for the Zen Vision, the iPod "instant breakdown" video or an Archos. The best one to go for is the Zen Vision, as unlike the piece of tacky, white plastic, it can display your favourite videos, movies and pictures with the greatest of ease. No complex method of either buying off the ridiculous iTunes thingymabob here, no, the Creative MediaSource Organiser software can do that all for you. Just place your desired disc in you computer and press a button and soon you can be walking away with your music or video.
Of course you haven't exactly got many other options when it comes to good media players. The iPod version for example, you are paying the £300 just for the status symbol of getting an iPod, the second you turn it on you either get; 1) A comedic puff of smoke to demonstrate that it has blown up or 2) Rubbish picture quality. So avoid that, the Archos is cheaper, but so is the quality. Not as good memory, not as good quality. The equivelant Archos is the same quality, but more expensive. A no brainer there then. To sum up, with this you get; Style (with the black or white version) High Quality Lots of memory User Friendliness AND the Creative Vision's party piece; Reliability. Bought one and that discovered that short of smashing it with a hammer (I dropped mine down a flight of stone stairs... Still worked and thanks to the gratis leather case, no scratch) it will work for a few decades, possibly centuries. And, it should hold its value, so you can sell it down the line and not loose much money. Unlike the iPod which will fetch about... tuppence.
