So small and light you can forget you have it with you!
The battery is charged by USB so no good if you're not near a computer. Once charged, it will play MP3s for some three hours or more. It probably shouldn't be thought of as just an MP3 player, as it has a few useful extras: FM radio, stopwatch, in-built microphone for recording. The storage is an inbuilt SD card so it doesn't skip when on the move. The best aspect of it though is the ability to drag & drop files onto it; there is none of the need-to-use-iTunes to get MP3s onto it (you can also use it to store non MP3 files). Negative points: - The headphones supplied with it are basic and not that comfortable. For long periods of usage, a better pair of headphones would be recommended. - There seems to be a limit as to how many folders you can store. Go past 100 or so and the unit doesn't seem able to see or play additional ones. Apart from those points everything else is in it's favour.

It's tiddly and cute with a pretty blue display. I can't compare it to other players in its class but it seems to do what it says on the tin. It came with a really ugly "opaque" silicone skin which makes it look like it spent the night in the freezer. I'd not have bothered, but it's the only way of attaching the (much more useful) belt-clip.
Earphones are standard cheap & nasty and the stereo buffs will probably chuck them and replace them with something that costs more than the player. They're good enough for me though. 2GB wont hold an entire collection but it's big enough for a lot of songs. Loading it up is easy, with or without the supplied software. The player doesn't work with playlists and uses the folder structure as surrogate playlists. This takes a little getting used to but it's quite logical and seems to work for me. Beware, though, the normal song playing order within the folder is by the filename, NOT the embedded song title or track number! So, if playing order is important, you'll need to make sure that the tracks include a track number at the start of the filename. The menu system is OK but a little cumbersome - perhaps it'll come with practise. I haven't bothered with the radio yet, and probably won't. I didn't have any success with my Zen V+ radio (reception is only any good if you can stand on the roof of your house, on one leg, on a clear day with the earphone cord held above your head). Dunno how the battery life works out as I haven't had it long enough to find out.
