A little Gem (excuse the pun), 18 Sep 2009
This review is from: Creative Zen Stone 1GB MP3 Player - Champagne
I am somebody who loves listening to music, loves playing and recording music and is very fussy about the equipment I use to play it.
Quite simply the 1GB Stone player from Creative is an amazing kit for the money! Build quality is seemly indestructible, sound quality perfectly acceptable, and the design a perfect illustration of less is more. The standard headphones are the usual rubbish one gets as standard with most mp3 players, but spend around a tenner on pair of upgrade in the ear jobbies and the improvement is obvious.
Ownership of the Stone player demonstrates two things. Firstly that you are not a tragic slave to fashion of the apple equivalent. Secondly, you are also showing that you have more sense than money as this player is significantly cheaper than the equivalent apple machine and in this reviewer's opinion, a superior product. Also no silly I-tunes software install needed on your PC either, this player is simply a drag and drop usb device that plays WMA (Windows media Audio) files so no file conversion needed either.
I honestly can't think of a single reason not to buy one. It's cheap, it looks good, it functions well, it's reliable and should the worst happen (i.e. if some `yoof' decides to nick it, or you drop it) a new one is only the price of a CD! Buy one of these little beauties and you won't regret it.

Best Thing I've Found for the Gym, 19 April 2010
This review is from: Creative Zen Stone 1GB MP3 Player - Champagne
I now have a growing collection of these Zen Stone 1GB devices because - so far - they are by far and away the best device of their type for using in the gym. I have no desire to carry around a large music collection all I want is a collection of my favourite work-out tracks to last thru my gym session. When I get tired of the tracks I just refresh the music collection.
Each Zen Stone is held securely in the Zen Stone Armband - small MP3 players attached to my arm work best for me. I have never found any location on shirt or shorts where the player work so well. One feature of the Zen Stone that I like is the folder skip option. So if I'm not in the mood for a particular album - I just skip to one that works on the day - simple. The essential headphones that go with the Zen Stone in the gym are the Sennheiser wrap around ruggedized version - when you're on the treadmill nothing else stays put.
I have an Apple Shuffle 2GB - also used with an arm band - smaller maybe but not so useable as the Zen Stone in my opinion. Also, the Zen is less than half the price.

Worth its weight in gold, 13 April 2011
This review is from: Creative Zen Stone 1GB MP3 Player - Champagne
Fantastic - if you get one of the newer ones with double battery life and internal speaker.
Sound quality is amazing, battery life at 20 hrs is amazing and at 20gms they are so much easier to use than a hefty phone for playing mp3s.
No screen but that is a plus as it can be operated fine without looking at it.
Why have Creative stopped making these? Why is the whole World not clamouring for these?
If you see one of these going, please snap it up and send it to me. I've worn out two, mainly by going to sleep listening to KJV Bible or something from sermonaudio. It would usually be still playing in the morning, but well away from my ear then so practically inaudible.
