5.0 out of 5 stars Top of its class!!! 6 Oct 2005
    By Laura
I am the proud owner of a creative zen micro(black) for 5 months and i love it! It has a brilliant memory and an fm tuner. I love it!
3 of my friends are getting one for Christmas because they've seen mine and love it so much. I also have the SBS Vivd 60 speakers(black) to match.
I really like the blow glow around the player and also there is a blue glow on the speakers which deliver brilliant quality sound.
The Fm tuner rocks and you can record your favourite songs from the radio onto your player or use the external microphone.
Also its battery is not built in so you dont have to send the player back to the manufacturer if the battery needs to be replaced like you do with the ipod.
I only have one complaint about the player, well its actually about the earphones you get with it. They look cool and all but they are really big and hurt my ears after about an hour.
Other than that i would recommend the Creative Zen Micro to anybody interested in buying an mp3player.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zen Micro 14 Oct 2005
    By Marcus
We've got three of these in our family and one of the Zen 10 mg machines - one of the micros developed the fault with the dodgy jack but Amazon changed it for us immediately - they are brilliant little machines, excellent colours, easy to use, good size - not too small so you can't see what's going on, and hold loads. Also they download from the computer simply, without having to fiddle with the music files like you have to with an i-pod. Would thoroughly recommend them

5.0 out of 5 stars A great player in my experience 14 Feb 2006
In my experience, this little player has been excellent. Now, I think its fair to say about half the reviews here on Amazon praise this MP3 player, and half completely slate it for being unreliable. Now I'm not saying the negative reviews are lies, but what I will say is that it seems to me that there have been a few dodgey batches of these players delivered to suppliers.
I've had mine since Christmas, and have had no problems whatsoever. I listen to it every day while at work, its battery lasts a constant day of use (about 8.5 hours) with battery time to spare. The player seems solid, and I've even wiggled the headphone jack on purpose and it seems solid. I think latest of these players have better headphone jacks, and are a lot more reliable. I really hope some of the reviews on here aren't for the old 5GB version of the Zen Micro, I really really do. If I had read the reviews on here before getting my Zen Micro, I wouldn't currently HAVE a Zen Micro. That would be a shame.
Reliability aside (which seems to have been an issue for some people) I don't think anybody has/could ever complain about the menu system...its straight forward, logical, and even customisable. The player is very small, it looks great with the blue glow, and the glow even pulsates as it charges. Looks-wise its great. Complaints about the touch pad (a common complaint of this player) are ill-founded, as I've never had trouble with it. If you have ever used a touch pad on a laptop, then that's exactly what to expect on this player. The people who can't use the touch pad on this are the same people who still can't drive after their 200th driving lesson, and still haven't quite worked out how to send a text message yet.
The sound quality is top notch.

4.0 out of 5 stars zen micro black 6 Mar 2006
The creative zen micro 6gb black has a decent storage capacity of around 3000 songs it has a decent battery life of around 12 hours but sadly there are better battery lifes around. The unit is very easy to navigate with a vertical touch pad. It has an fm radio built in with which you can program up to 32 preset stations. Unfortunatly if you are buying this over others just for the fm radio don't creative fm radios are flawed and give barely audible sound. On the upside however the unit comes with a built in voice recorder, a personal organiser and of course a random shuffle play to listen back your music. In the box you will get a creative zen micro, earphones, usb2 cable, installation software and a lithium ion battery but no charger or wired remote so charging only available through usb2 however charger available at extra cost a remote control is also available seperatly . I recommend this unit as on mp3 playback the unit sounds exceptional but i do have issues such as i feel the fm radio is flawed and the unit is just slightly to bulky to fit in your pocket comfartably and their are hidden costs with the missing accs. Regarding the battery life i reccomend that if you are going to buy the craetive zen micro, then i reccomend that you buy a spare battery so that you can raplace it on the go to double your battery life. If you can over look what are minor flaws in a good quality easy to use mp3 player then i reccomend this unit thouroughly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic but Fragile 12 Oct 2005
    By A. Simm
I have to agree with the other reviews here, for the 1st 6 months I had mine I thought it was fantastic, and then the headphone socket broke. It doesnt help that the creative technical support helpline is actually an international call to Portugal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little player 29 Jan 2006
I ordered this with hisitation following mixed reviews on this very site, but decided upon it having researched it further on techie review sites and the like.
Out the box: Battery, Good quality headphones (though I know of people who they just dont stay in the ear for), CD w/ software, carry case, usb dock and instruction booklet. No mains charger.
Smaller than I expected, very snazzy blue backlight looks cool in the dark. Screen is clear, not huge but big enough. Touch pad is well laid out. I have Black version. 10/10
Touchpad works superbly, never used one before but it was second nature within 2 minutes of use. Arranging playlists via the computer was a sinch. I preferred to use it like a removable hard disk and just do drag n drop transferring of music, it recommends you use software but it takes longer that way. All tracks sort themselves out alphabetically. Sleep/Alarm/Clock/Date etc all very easy to set. All the play options you could need. 10/10
Headphones provided are decent enough for most people, although if you're on the tube/transport a lot you might want to invest in some noise proof ones (the ones which block out external noise) so you dont deafen yourself. Bass is excellent and it goes VERY loud (i only need to listen on volume 15 out of 30 even on the train)
Doesn't have neck/wrist string which was a bit annoying, but headphone cable long enough to have in your trouser pockets. Not having a mains charger is quite annoying, what if i'm staying somewhere without a PC? Can buy one at extra cost but would have expected that as standard. 7/10
Sound quality is great, it's easy to use, nice to look at. Only gripe is needing pc to charge it. 9/10
