Having had a Creative Nano Plus 1GB for over a year, I decided I should treat myself to a larger capacity player (lack of time to change the music every week meant I was getting bored with the maximum 18 albums stored on it at any one time). I was going to get just an 8GB player (£90+) but then saw this little 30GB beauty at £130 (£30+ cheaper than the black version) and thought 'why not go the whole way for the extra money and get something that plays videos as well'. What a good decision that was!
I've only had it a week, so have not done too much with it, but it took around 15 minutes to load on 70 albums and my photograph collection, which was pretty amazing, and the radio tuned itself in seconds (although not many stations came up as I was in my office in the middle of London at the time). Can't comment on capacity at the moment, but I know the above has taken up approximately 4GB on the player (but that does include all the demos that Creative had on it and I've yet to delete).
Have not yet put any videos on, but aim to do that this weekend when I have more time, but the Creative demo videos are brilliant, with amazing colour and clarity and the small screen is great - thought it would be hard on the eyes watching something this small, but it's not, and I think that's because the quality is so good. Unlike other people, I've never had trouble with the Creative earphones, they fit well (perhaps I've got odd ears!) and the sound is good, even when you turn the volume up to maximum. Like other reviewers, I did find the controls a bit sensitive to begin with, but changed the setting to low and now find it OK.
I invested in a pink leather cover for my player (only £4+ from an Amazon supplier) - as it's in my handbag constantly and I didn't want it to get scratched - and a charger plug (again, only £4+) - which was well worth it as it only took just over 2 hours to completely charge the player from the mains (and it seemed to be taking ages doing this via my computer!). I don't know why Creative don't include a charger/adapter with the player, as it would seem a sensible thing to do.
What I like about Creative products is that you don't need a manual to work them, they are just so easy and, as a non-techie person, this is a real bonus I can tell you.
On the review for my Nano Plus I said I was a happy bunny and I'm pleased to say that, so far, I am again!!
