I've owned several Creative speaker systems over the years and never once been disappointed with the results they've delivered. However........ Whilst disappointment may be too strong a statement, I wasn't blown away with the T3150's.

On unpacking them the first thing that struck me how really light weight the sub woofer box weighed, almost as if constructed from hardboard. The wireless in the product description refers only to the Bluetooth connectivity available with the speakers.

They were easy to set up and within five minutes I was testing them using an iPod touch. My initially impression was quite positive. Vocals were crisp, mid range was warm and smooth and the bass was reasonably tight. But all this was at at moderate volume. When I turned the volume up to full things weren't brilliant. The high end and treble slightly distorted and the bass basically collapsed. I got the impression this system wasn't designed for serious output.

I'd have awarded just three stars, but the Bluetooth feature is worthy of an additional star considering their selling price.
So, to conclude. These are an ideal set of speakers for anyone wanting their music delivered cleanly and crisply but at a more moderate volume, and if that's the case then you won't be disappointed. However, if you're looking for something with that extra "oomph' then these aren't for you.

For wireless speakers the T3150 comes with a lot of wires attached! The power cable is hard wired to the sub-woofer rather than using a low voltage plug-in adaptor as some other computer speakers do. The remote control is also attached to a hard wired cable - this controls on/off and volume and has an LED to indicate the Bluetooth status but the actual button for Bluetooth pairing is tucked away at the rear of the sub-woofer making it difficult to reach when the speakers are in situ! This button should really have been on the remote too. Even the aux-in jack plug is attached to a hard wired cable making it almost impossible to replace should it ever develop a fault. Only the satellite speakers are detachable - but they are hard wired together and connect to the sub-woofer using a 3.5mm jack plug fitted to a rather short cable.

The T3150 is not really a portable speaker system and is best suited for use with a PC rather than a laptop as much off the wiring is quite thin and may not stand up to a lot of frequent moving about. I have tried the speaker system with a number of sources - both wired and via Bluetooth - and although the sound is good from some, with others the bass can be a bit too boomy. There are no tone controls so this could be a problem in some set-ups!

The Bluetooth feature does make the T3150 a contender at the price and it will sound good in some situations. However, if I were redesigning it I would make the aux-in cable detachable so it would be easily replaceable; I would do away with the cable remote control and put a volume control, the LED and Bluetooth pairing button on the front of the sub-woofer, and add a bass tone control! As computer speakers I would rate the T3150 with three stars - however, the Bluetooth feature at the price adds one more star because of the additional flexibility.

I've been using a different (but very similar) set of Creative speakers for some time now. As those ones aren't Bluetooth enabled I've had to physically connect them to the music player that I'm using (phone/tablet/MP3 player/laptop) and then stay close by because of the connecting wire. Although I was impressed with that set of speakers I knew that I needed something with Bluetooth to save being tied to the controller.

That's where this set of speakers comes into its own - once you pair the speakers up with up to eight pieces of your equipment then all you have to do in future is switch on the speaker set and you can wander off with your phone etc to play your music remotely. In my case it means that I can skip tracks etc from the comfort of a chair across the room rather than having to walk over to the speaker set in order to do so. The button to pair with other Bluetooth enabled equipment is located at the back of the subwoofer which might be a little awkward if you regularly want to connect up to new devices, but there is still a standard 3.5mm jack socket supplied which means you can plug it in instead. I just paired up all of my equipment on day one and haven't had a problem.

Sound-wise they are pretty good and offer a good depth and volume. I've used them with a wide range of music styles over the past month or so and haven't found anything that makes them sound bad. The only thing I'd say is that you need to take care when removing the subwoofer from the packaging as the speaker is open to the underneath and it's possible to damage it with a misplaced finger. For this sort of price you could certainly do worse than this set of speakers, and I've been very pleased with them.

The T3150's are a pretty good looking set of speakers, though as a personal preference, I feel they're a bit on the chunky side (this may be due to my old speakers being half the width).
The speaker dimensions are the following; 15cm tall, 8cm wide & 9cm long, the product dimensions that are given in the product description (34.2 x 21 x 20.4 cm) are for the sub.

I initially planned to replace my 5 year old Dell speakers with these, but unfortunately due to my desk layout the cables came a bit too short to get them into the position I had wanted. This could be an easy fix by using a stereo extension cable, but I didn't have one spare.

In the end I decided to hook these up to my bedroom TV so I could get a little more "ompf" in sound quality.

Very easy to set-up; each speaker cable joins into one which you then plug into the sub, grab the fixed stereo cable attached to the sub and plug it into your desired device (desktop, TV, phone etc...), then plug in the power cable and use the control pad to turn the unit on and boost up the volume.

The sound quality I personally found to be very good be it for music, movies or games and the sub seems to be very well balanced; doesn't give much when not needed but delivers a hard kick when it does.

That said, it would be nice if you could control the bass yourself, with my Dell speakers I can turn the sub off completely which has been a favourite feature of mine due to my house having thin walls, so when watching films at night I can turn the sub off to avoid disturbing my neighbour. Unfortunately these speakers don't have this option.

As for Bluetooth, the pairing button is located on the back of the Sub and was easy to pair with my phone.

Overall these are a really good set of speakers and would definitely recommend them, especially if you like bass, for those who like control of their bass, I wouldn't recommend them.
