For anyone who needs help finding innovative ideas for what to do with empty walls in your flat/house this really is all you need! The pictures are absolutely gorgeous and the ideas, so original. The author shows you just how easy it is to be so creative in and around your home with your very own belongings.

What I love most about this book is the personal touch. The author has included all her friends houses and used their great ideas for how to decorate your walls which brings out the real charm and character of this great read.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a fabulous present or merely just something to treat yourself to- I have!

This is a beautiful book with loads of gorgeous photographs of highly individual rooms - some of which are actually shop interiors, rather than homes. Though it is lovely, and I will enjoy it, it's not really what I expected. I think the description makes it sound much more practical than it is. Most of the ideas shown are very very edgy and unlikely to fit into a domestic situation unless you really are uber-cool and live in a loft in Berlin or something (in which case, you probably won't need the book). So, I will keep it for pure enjoyment and for - perhaps - some degree of inspiration, but if you're looking for a more practical guide, this is perhaps not the one.

Not only did Creative Walls provide the inspiration for me to make the most of my flat but it also looks beautiful on my new coffee table. Just about everyone who enters my flat ends up thumbing through it and going away with plans to display old photos, a grandparent's collection of antique thimbles - even a selection of vintage hats! The rules only stretch as far as your own imagination!

The way the author uses her own home and those of her friends gives the book a massive personal touch and makes even the most original ideas seem achievable. The author also makes it very clear that good style has nothing to do with how much money you have to spend - it's about making the most of the things you probably already have so your home really reflects your personality.

The book is beautifully put together, well shot and very informative. It would make an excellent gift - I'm only hoping my mum doesn't buy a copy between now and Christmas as I've already bought a copy for her stocking!

Creative Walls is completely engaging from start to finish. It focuses on something so simple -- walls -- yet manages to be a real page turner because the author builds out the topic so thoroughly. When you think of a book focusing only on walls you imagine that at some point, you'd fall asleep. I mean, how many options do you have? Wall decals, paint, wallpaper, pictures... But with Creative Walls the author and her friends show you tons of ideas and most are not at all typical. This book makes you think that anything is possible when it comes to decorating your walls. If you rip down the wallpaper and discover layers of old paper beneath it, keep it that way if you like it and don't apologize. If you want to group a million portrait paintings from a boot sale on your wall, go for it because it's your house. If you feel like sharing your cherished collection of insects, plates, or anything else you fancy, do it. If you want to put tons of things on your wall in the kitchen, why not? There are no limits to creativity and this book really opens the mind up to the possibilities.

I also love the cover of this book and the overall design is quite nice, as is the paper quality.

Creative Walls gives you hundreds of ideas to help you deck your walls with confidence and creativity. It encourages you to have fun and follow your creative vision. Bravo to the author for such a divine book!

I have found this book to be very inspirational for my own rooms, and has made the task of decorating less daunting and more fun! It even pushed me into the attic to retrieve a stash of old photo frames that I have been 'saving'. The quality of the book is amazing, the pages are thick and the images crisp. I would recommend it to anyone, even if you have your perfect home, its great just to look at the pictures.

I do rather like this book, despite its limitations. The author seems obsessed with bits of dead animal (tender-hearted vegetarians beware), and the schemes shown are pretty much the same whatever the room; some more obviously kitchen-y, bathroom-y and bedroom-y schemes would have been nice. Also, the things displayed are very similar; collections of pictures, collections of photographs, and assemblages of bizarre unrelated bits and bobs make up the vast majority of what is shown. I would have liked to have seen more suggestions for how to display books, or vintage clothes, or kitchen antiques, or any of the many different kinds of collections that would lend themselves to putting on a wall. There isn't enough variety of object shown, that's for sure.

However the book does, unlike many designer guides, feature a wide range of styles from the vibrantly jazzy to the cool and monochrome, in a good selection of fairly ordinary rooms; whatever your taste I think you'll find something to like here. The children's and adolescent's rooms are very good too, and none of the rooms are sick-makingly "feminine" or so cluttered as to be impractical; photos taken without a coloured filter too, for a change! So what we see is actually down to the display, not the fact that the room itself is outstanding. This means there is a lot of inspiration for the reader.

Buy it for yourself if you haven't got the courage to tackle your bare walls unaided; it would also make a really good house-warming present.
