Creative Walls is completely engaging from start to finish. It focuses on something so simple -- walls -- yet manages to be a real page turner because the author builds out the topic so thoroughly. When you think of a book focusing only on walls you imagine that at some point, you'd fall asleep. I mean, how many options do you have? Wall decals, paint, wallpaper, pictures... But with Creative Walls the author and her friends show you tons of ideas and most are not at all typical. This book makes you think that anything is possible when it comes to decorating your walls. If you rip down the wallpaper and discover layers of old paper beneath it, keep it that way if you like it and don't apologize. If you want to group a million portrait paintings from a boot sale on your wall, go for it because it's your house. If you feel like sharing your cherished collection of insects, plates, or anything else you fancy, do it. If you want to put tons of things on your wall in the kitchen, why not? There are no limits to creativity and this book really opens the mind up to the possibilities.
I also love the cover of this book and the overall design is quite nice, as is the paper quality.

For anyone who needs help finding innovative ideas for what to do with empty walls in your flat/house this really is all you need! The pictures are absolutely gorgeous and the ideas, so original. The author shows you just how easy it is to be so creative in and around your home with your very own belongings.
What I love most about this book is the personal touch. The author has included all her friends houses and used their great ideas for how to decorate your walls which brings out the real charm and character of this great read.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a fabulous present or merely just something to treat yourself to- I have!

This is a beautiful book with loads of gorgeous photographs of highly individual rooms - some of which are actually shop interiors, rather than homes. Though it is lovely, and I will enjoy it, it's not really what I expected. I think the description makes it sound much more practical than it is. Most of the ideas shown are very very edgy and unlikely to fit into a domestic situation unless you really are uber-cool and live in a loft in Berlin or something (in which case, you probably won't need the book). So, I will keep it for pure enjoyment and for - perhaps - some degree of inspiration, but if you're looking for a more practical guide, this is perhaps not the one.

Some good ideas!
