Manufacturer's Description

Compact, lightweight, yet affordable, Creative TravelSound 200 is the perfect portable palm-sized speaker with built-in high precision Titanium micro drivers to deliver crystal clear audio playback. Suitable for listening to music CDs, MP3 songs or even watching movies on your notebook. Portable option with 4x "AA" batteries or optional universal power supply adapter (sold separately). Comes with an Audio Normalizer switch, which reduces excessive loud songs to average volume level - this problem is common when ripping MP3 music. The Wide Stereo Effect feature enhances your audio listening experience by expanding the sound stage.

Product Description

Creative® TravelSound 200 is the personal one-piece stereo speaker for mobile listening pleasure. The perfect partner for Creative digital audio players such as the Creative MuVo and Jukebox as well as for portable CDs and notebook PCs its clever fold-away design features dual slim titanium drivers for a low profile durability and high-quality output. Advanced technology makes the Creative TravelSound 200 small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and also ensures long playtimes from 4 standard AA batteries. As well as a 'wide effect' feature for improved stereo effects the system incorporates a Normalizer function to equalise output volumes across tracks recorded at different levels. A neat Travel Case completes the package. The new Creative Travelsound 200 speakers are virtually identical to the old Travelsound speakers apart from a slightly different design no AC adapter and it uses 'AA' instead of 'AAA' batteries. Compact light one-piece foldaway design with dual slim titanium drivers. Up to 25 hours playback on 4 standard AA batteries. 'Normalizer' function balances output volumes from tracks recorded at different levels. Headphone connectivity

Multi Use 19 May 2005
I got these speakers about a month or so ago to use with my Creative Touch and have been really impressed with them. I have used them on my desk at work, in the middle of a field, and as my mian stereo in my room (I ditched my cheapo stereo as these beauties more than do the job). The sound quality from such a small device really shows why creative are the top brand when it comes to portable music.

I have bought an ac adaptor for around £8, and when I have my Touch plugged in as well I have unlimited life for my music. The life off the batteries though is more than adequate, and this ability will come to the fore when I head to New Zealand in the summer (they also come with a carry pouch that will protect them whilst you are in transit, always thinking!). Its great to know that I can be in the middle of nowhere and have music of such good quality at the touch of a button.

So if you have a personal music player and are after a small set of speakers that will fit in the bottom of your bag then look no further!!!

Wasn't sure about these speakers at first due to their price, I bought from high street retailer and paid a little bit more than Amazon price, but needn't have worried. They are quite simply stunning.
The whole unit is smaller than a single speaker from my previous Radio Shack items, which I bought hurriedly as one of my laptop speakers gave up in the states.
Volume range is more than adequate, given that they are travel speakers hence you'll probably be using them in company and don't want to upset all and sundry anyway.
Psuedo Wide effect does work and isn't just a gimick. Quite surprising the difference it does make actually.

These come with a full set of AA batteries(4), protective case and gold plated stereo lead, approx 18" long. This is the where they loose 1/2 a star at best. They could really have done with including an extension lead with them.

This pack doesn't come with a PSU, but you can power them from the mains to conserve battery life.

All in all a cracking set that look well built enough to deem the moniker "Travel Speakers"

I bought the Travelsound speakers because the existing portable speakers I have have long trailing wires which becomes a bit annoying after a while. The travelsound has no such problems - if the batteries are used, then there is just one short connecting wire to the MP3 player. The main plus is the size of the speakers - when folded you can literally put the unit into the plam of your hand. The sound is pretty good, but only when the volume is not turned to full whack. It then becomes a bit tinny and distorted. I haven't really noticed a great deal of difference between the normal sound setting and 3D setting. One major gripe is the fact that Creative don't supply a power cable with the unit - batteries are included but no cable. Anyway, to sum up, a decent enough product for portable sound.

Portable speakers that delivers.
Today's problem with portable speakers are that they are very small. So small, in fact, that the company have sacrificed much of the actual sound quality - namely bass. Read more
