If you only buy one book on serging - that's overlocking to us Brits-, get this one! It's packed with ideas and tips. After ages struggling with chains, this book gives me a simple way to tie off a chain! It has more info about tensions and what the over and under loopers do than the handbook that came with my 'Brother' overlocker! (Shame on you Brother!) It's written in an easy to understand informal style... it is a bargain, order yours today! If you want to get more out of your machine. Happy serging!

Really good little book to help you get up to speed with your overlocker. A year ago I didn't even know what an overlocker was; with the help of this book, I now know what it is, have got one and know how to use it.

I've recently bought this book to help me with a brand new overlocking machine. Being new to overlocking I had little idea how to use it, but this book has been fantastic in getting me started. It has clear explanations with helpful illustrations, and it provides ideas that you can transfer to a wide range of sewing projects. I don't think I could have managed without it (despite 40 years of sewing experience and some pretty high level skills with an ordinary sewing machine)! Overlocking/serging is quite different from sewing - it changes the way you approach making a garment or item. Well done Gail and Pati!
