Product Description

Product Description

A compendium of more than 400 quilts culled from the nearly 6000 Quilt Pages made by 918 artists who have participated in The Journal Quilt Project displayed at the International Quilt Festival. Each quilt shown represents a page in a quilter's life story, chronicling joy, frustration, tragedy, inspiration, mundane moments, artistic epiphany - and every event and emotion in between. This book will inspire anyone with an interest in quilting to experiment and explore their own creative abilities.

Filled with 100s of glorious photos of A4 journal quilts from nearly a 1000 quilters, this book is the art quilt group `show and tell' you've been missing. I leaf through it often just for inspiration: it is my one quilt book I don't lend out to friends because I need it!

Great book for inspiration 12 Dec 2006
By J. Marklin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The quality of the book is very impressive. 400 small quilts reproduced with comments by the makers. If you are interested in what's going on in art, and/or quiltmaking, you will enjoy having this book. I am a biased reviewer - I am proud to say I have a Journal Quilt in the book. The process of using art to keep a journal was a freeing experience. I think the book will inspire others to start their own small projects, or just be a great book to page through and enjoy.

High Quality Quilt Art Book -- A MUST BUY! 26 Jan 2007
By Edgewood Quilter - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This beautiful book is filled with more than 400 color photos of small quilts. Each photograph includes a descriptive blurb by the quilt artist. Many of the quilts will beckon you to closely inspect the techniques used, and with the high quality photography, this is easily accomplished. For those who have not seen the Journal Quilt Project mounted, this book is an excellent substitute.

Overall, the Creative Quilting book is exceptional, a "coffee table book" -- not the type of book to merely thumb through and shelve in your quilt library. Creative Quilting is one of the best quilting books I have ever viewed, reviewed, or owned. The "Five stars" rating simply does not do justice to this publication.

Don't miss out on this book....treat yourself to the best eye-candy available.

Creative for sure! 17 Feb 2007
By Roberta L. Payne - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is one inspiring and creative book for sure! It took me more then 3 evenings to look at and read each and every one of these awesome journal quilts. To be able to see so many different techniques was a joy! This is worth every penny just to keep in your quilting library! You'll reference it time and again!
