Great alternative to a Zen Stone, 26 Jan 2008
This review is from: Creative Muvo T100 4GB MP3 Player (Electronics)
I got this as a replacement for my 1G Zen stone after it was stolen. I loved the funtionality of the stone and considered getting another one but was tempted by this player offering 4 times the memory for only £10 extra. With other MP3 players I've had problems organising the tracks how I want them as they tend to sort them by artist and album whether you like it or not. This player however, just like the stone, simply sorts the tracks into folders which you can create and edit yourself without you having to use any annoying software program. My PC recognised the plyer without any instalation required and transfering tracks takes a matter of seconds. I use Windows Media Player to transfer files and simply organise the tracks through My Computer, There's a slide switch that skips between folders then it plays the tracks in numerical and alphabetical order so to arrange the playing order you just change the numbers on the track titles. Despite the huge memory it's only slightly bigger than the stone and looks just as good. I prefer the direct USB connection to having to use a lead and it also has a bass boost which you don't get on the stone. There's not much I can complain about with the Muvo, the battery may be an issue for some if you are away from a USB for an extended period but for me this is outweighed by the convienience of the unit being so small and quick to charge and not having to buy batteries. The headphones however, are the same rubbish ones that come with the stone so a decent replacement is a worthwhile investment if you don't allready have a good set.

Great mp3 for the price, 3 Jan 2008

Great storage for songs. Easy to use. No display- so you have to know the order you put songs onto the player. Great sound- even with supplied headphones.

a mobile player that frankly isn't mobile, 3 Jun 2008
This review is from: Creative Muvo T100 4GB MP3 Player (Electronics)
I have two creative zen's and bought two more for friends, so I am not hostile to the company as such.
But this is ridiculous.
The USB cap flies off at a moment's notice, and there is no realistic way of attaching it, besides (as I've done) with glue and thread. A minor but significant annoyance.
The more serious problem is that the battery life drains away fast, and there seems no way to prevent it. It is possible to turn the thing 'off', but experimentation has proven that it still burns power in this state. Sad that there is no 'hard' switch for doing such a simple job as disconnecting the power. Sad, that is, until you realise there is a hard switch for switching between shuffle and non-shuffle modes! What kind of hipster mutant is more concerned with shuffling than turning things off and on?
Otherwise, price good for clear sound and more storage than you'll need.
Another serious good point to most Creative USB players is that you can store anything on them. So mine functions as jukebox and briefcase.
