The camera itself is pretty good quality and the sound that you get from is is OK too. I have used this for a couple years and use it pretty much all the time for Skype when I'm at home. If you don't want to move the camera around it is great for that.
The software that you get with it (instant photo, video recording, motion detection time lapse) all works very well.
So why not five stars? The mounting unit.
The clamp that comes with it doesn't seem to fit anything well, not my flat screen monitor, my old CRT monitor or my laptop. It will stand on a flat surface OK. Also the swivel got so loose after a few weeks that I can spend quite a lot of time trying to get the camera to point in the right direction. The swivel is too loose to stop the slight pressure from the cable from causing the camera to point in any direction it likes> If it gets nudged, it can take quite a while to get it pointing in the right direction again, and stay there, which is very annoying. Consequently I don't use it for travelling.
Having said all that when I have it set (sometimes with judicious use of an odd rubber band or a bit of tape) it works very well and I use it all of the time.
Note that the camera has a manual focus, which I like, as you can set the distance to one that suits you, but if you're going to change it often it might not be the best for you .
