I like my new toy..., 12 Nov 2003

I'm a Postman, and decided to buy an MP3 player for work. This is brilliant - it fits neatly into my shirt pocket, and sound quality is great, masking the road noise from everything bar lorries at 15 or 16 volume. File transfer is fast - very fast - as is charge time, which will then last you a fair while itself. The only slight 'issue' is that it can take a while to turn on - pushing the power button down sometimes doesent activate the player, and it needs to be done two or three times. Other than that ridiculously minor glitch, it's great, and I'm glad I bought it :)

Excellent Product. Haven't seen a better one., 2 Jan 2004

Bought this as an early Xmas pressie to myself. Best feature for me is its Battery Life. It has a Lithium Ion battery (similar to the latest and greatest phones) and the manufacturer's claims for 14 hours playtime are true. However, the real important thing is between plays it holds its charge. All other mp3 players I have used haven't. Plus you can charge through any USB port too which is nice. Secondly if you have a USB2.0 PC this is blazingly fast for downloading. I did 400Mb in under 10 seconds. It would have taken 15 minutes on a USB 1.1 PC, so that is great. I've also connected it to Windows 2000 and Windows XP and it just is there straight away. I've not had to put any other device drivers in at all (of course you may want to install the mp3 ripper from Creative). Lastly, the ripper isn't bad either. I've had a few rippers which glitch sometimes. This one doesn't, and the player itself seems to support MP3 better than my other MP3 players I've had (such as Rio's). The ONLY item I find a little frustrating is the joypad. It needs delicate control, and when doing sports you cannot necessarily give it that. I jog quite a bit, and I've had to take the player off and look at it whilst jogging as its gone into an admin menu rather than shuffled on as my fingers were not as delicate as it would like. Hopefully I won't hit a lamp post in the future! Overall Very Excellent. Well worth the money, as it is so good. If you have had other mp3 players in the past, you'll know how annoying battery life can be, so having this one is an absolute joy.

X trainer review, 11 Dec 2003

I have only played with this for an hour (christmas present, but i had to check it worked - yeah right!) First: the stock headphones are completly horrible, they feel cheap, look cheap and sound cheap, completely devoid of any bass at all. Luckily i had anticipated this and bought some sennhieser px-100's. When coupled with these i was amazed at the sound quality, trouble was it was so telling i had to rip my music at 320 vbr kbs (dont worry, it sound very nice at 128 kbs but i am very very picky). The capacity is perfect, it will store 4 or 5 well ripped albums. Minus point is that it doesnt appear to be able to shuffle play. The navigation is easy, although when jogging the buttons arent brilliant. Its very durable, rubber surround feels very good, and as its solid state you can listen to perfect music when jogging or rowing, brilliant. It also goes very loud to drown out the heaviest traffic. To fill the player it takes about 15 to twenty seconds. thank god for usb 2. Over all I am very impressed (mainly due to sound quality, which IMHO is better than the Ipod)
